Hi, Just wondering if the Hawkesbury River, down from the road bridge has cleaned up yet. The last time I went up there a few weeks ago it was filthy brown and logs everywhere?

Hey Bob do you consider the Trags better than Jews, or on par with their eating qualities?
-
I had similar boat issues with my Haines with a Mercury on it, took it to the local mechanic and they said it was to do with the hydraulic steering, there was a lot of air bubbles in it. They drained it and put new fluid in and all was good after that.

Appartently in NZ they target Gurnard because they are great to eat.
-
What size boat do you have to get out there?
-
Great fish again, you need to change your Fishraider name to Jewfish101.
-
What was the size of the biggest one?
-
That's a stonker, well done.

Great fish, great fishes. That must be a bit rare to get that many big fish in the same area.
-
Good going for mid winter, well done.

Great report, well done. What do you find is the best Poddy Mullet trap?
-
Good fish and good story, obviously the electric motor did the trick.

Great well written report @kiwicraig, and a nice Gummy - the DPI say it's rare to get them over 1 metre off Central NSW.
@kyngfish, Fishing World put out a good article recently on Gummy tips http://www.fishingworld.com.au/how-to/how-to-catch-gummy-sharks
Thanks for the info, now just have to get out there after them.

Is there any specific way you can target gummies. I thought (except for Melbourne) they are a bit hit and miss or just bicatch.
-
Well done, what was the better eating?

I think both areas are good but it just depends on when you are there, I feel that they swim between the two.
They have been caught at Smiths but not great numbers. When I was younger we used to go out from Akuna Bay and go east and that was the best spot then, my mate caught the NSW junior record from that area (that was a while ago now). I do not hear of many if any reports coming from that area now but I am sure that they would be there and it is close to a boat ramp.

Hi,
Just a heads up. My mate in Sydney told me the fishing club he is in are organising one for the weekend of 30 June, 1 & 2 July.
Maybe one to avoid. Not sure how many boats or if they have already hired anyway as yet.

Hi all,
Have fished Hawkesbury the last few weeks and it has produced some decent sized hairies. By what I see they will be more productive this year in the system just need to know spots and tide times and lots and lots of Burley . I can also say that you will get alot of soapie jewies and bonito ( be prepared for a decent fight ).
Hi ace,
Do you know what was the length of the largest one. Maybe this year there will be more bigger ones around. They have been a bit lacking over the last couple of years.

Great feed there.
-
That's great I thought it would be a bit early.
-
Well done , good result.
You always seem to learn something for next time when out on these adventures.
-
Good stuff. Hopefully each year will get better with the increase in keepable size.
Does anyone have any good tips on beach worming ?
