Hi everyone, I am after some advice on safety gear requirements I have a stacer 449 estuary master with a 50hp. Do you think it is suitable to get to the artificial reef off south head. On a calm day of course. What safety gear do I require if so? As its around the 2km distance off the heads isn't it? I have an epirb, vhf radio, jackets, extinguisher + other estuary safety bits and pieces. Do I need flares and a v sheet? Anything else? Thanks in advance- Adam

Hi raiders, Heading to Hawks nest for a few days fishing with my old man and brother. Hoping to get into a few flatty's, whiting and Jews. Also going to drop a few crab nets out. Was wondering if anyone has been there lately and has any recommendations/ tips for a few spots to try, especially spots to drop a few crab nets. Thanks for your help in advance! Cheers, Adam.

Yesterday a mate and I were fishing in rose bay. Soft plastics hoping for a few nice flatties. We ended up with 2 nice 45cm keepers. BUT lost 4 massive ones at the side of the boat. The first and last time I will forget the landing net! They were just too big to lift into the boat, we tried buckets, bags, lip grips but could not lift them. They were easily 75-80cm. It would have been hilarious to watch! All in all a great day on the water though. Get out there if you get a chance! We were using Z-man motor oil plastics. Any one else having success out in the harbour lately? It's perfect conditions.

Hi fellow raiders, Was wondering if anyone could suggest a few land based tips and locations worth a shot this time of year in port Stephens? Will be staying at little beach for a few days. Any squid spots or flathead/ whiting/ bream spots? How are the beaches fishing also? Any help appreciated as always Cheers, Adam

Hi raiders, I have just bought and put a mini downrigger and the back of my 12ft tinny. Looking to give it a run on Saturday at pittwater! Was hoping for some advice on: *what size bomb to use to troll in pittwater or middle harbour? * any recommendations for spots in these areas to troll? *what depth and speed should I troll at? *are live bait hooks ok to use or will they make the bait (yakka or suid)spin?
