I am in the same boat (Bahahaa) looking for a 17 to 19 foot aluminium boat for 10k for my new 60hp Honda 4 stroke. Been looking for about 18 months - no luck

I go down every year but only been taking the boat for the last 2 years. Caught nuthing but eels nth east of the island just off Kiola ramp. I would be looking further north for reds. Steve

And for the finishing touches.... didnt waste much, used all the scraps and made fresh fish cakes in a blender with all the scrappy bits etc YUM

Wow what a cracker of a day, I am writing this in much pain as my arms and back are still aching from pulling in a massive Tuna. Had an awesome day with Mick and Dave from Reef Magic. Took a little while to find em but Mick put us on the spot and just after lunch BAM 5 way hook-up unforTUNAtly one got away when Bens line got twisted with another rod, with all the chaos going on we still got 4 in the boat, it was crazy. Apart from that we all had a great day. The fish were that big it needed 3 of us to carry each others fish to the cars, what a sight. i used a golf buggy to get mine round the back when i got home and dumped it into the outside bath (tail hanging out - didnt quite fit) with ice and salt. (another great tip from Dave) ready to be sliced and diced in the morning. Off to bed now still buzzing, I'm sure Stewy will have a more detailed report with photos. Thanks Guys Awesome day Steve

Hi Guys, This is my first post, i must add i love your site. Got a question. I bought a crappy old Nautiglass V150 1/2 cabin which has holes along the gunell rails (realised after i upgraded the motor to a 4st 60hp honda) so now i am looking to upgrade the boat ;-) without the wifes permission (i'm working on it) I am looking at the Quintrex Escape 510 but im not sure if the 60hp will be enough muscle. Specs say it only weighs 460kgs and my fibreglass V150 surely must weigh more than that. Quintrex specs say 60hp recomended but after reading a few blogs and reviews people are saying that it might be under powered. I'm not after a racing boat, does this matter. I generally dont have a large crew, just 2 usually. what are your ideas, should i drop down to the 490 Escape or any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Guppy Slayer
