  1. I've just moved right near Narrabeen lagoon and am wondering if it is worth fishing. I see so many people fishing it and no one seems to caught any thing decent. I have a kayak so I have access to the whole lagoon but where should I start. Are there also prawns and crabs too?
  2. Heading down in two weeks for a birthday. Just wondering what's around in winter. I usually go in summer. Heading to Beacroft!
  3. Kayak actually. So I can go anywhere! ;-)
  4. Has anyone had any luck at long reef latey?
  5. Hi all, I need a bit of advice on buying a blue water fishing kayak. I've owned boats my whole life and have just recently sold my last one a few months ago and I am dying to get back out on the water. I've been looking online and am really keen to purchase one of the peddle powered ones. They look like the most practical, leaving your hands free to reel in a big king or even a red. So what I'm asking is any information on the pros and cons of these pedal fishing kayaks and where is the best place to buy or ever get info would be? Thanks for your help! Oh also I live a Dee Why so longy is just around the corner so any advice on kayak fishing there would be great! Cheers
  6. Yep it was! That why I headed to the beach. The gutter near the post had a tonne of weed washing through it. So I found a smaller one further south of the beach with no weed and no luck with the fish. Then fished where the sand meets the rocks at the pool end. And still nothing!

  8. Just got back from an arvo into the night fish and come up with nothing. Tried everything and everywhere. What's the secret in Dee Why?
  9. Haha I'd actually had a few beers myself when I posted this and forgot about it until now. Thanks for the info. When this weather settles down I might give it a shot. Cheers
  10. Hi guys, I have just moved to Dee Why and I'm about 5 minute walk from the beach/rocks. I usually fish out of my boat but unfortunatly have to sell it. Would anyone be able to help me with some fishing spots in the area. I usually chase Kings in the summer and black drummer throughout winter. Is there any hot spots for chasing these? Ill also fish for anything else as well so any info will help. Thanks
  11. Thanks heaps mate. Ill let you know how I go.
  12. Oh shit sorry. Sydney habour in a boat. Last year I could bag a few around the spit and some weed beds in rosé bay but this season I'm spending HOURS chasing and coming up with nothing.
  13. I know no one wants to give away there secret spots, but I'm finding really hard this year to get even a few squid in my live bait tank. Can anyone recommend where they might be hiding? Please help!
  14. Thanks Scratchie, This is the first step in saving the future of Hawkesbury River. I think if we all stick together and forward on our concerns we might just be able to get something done. Sending my email now!
  15. Hey guys, it's sad to say but the Hawkesburu is ruined. I lived on the river at Lower Portland from when I was 9 months old until I was 15 and fish that almost every day. My parent still own the property down there but over the last 15 year the river has been raped, pillaged and plundered of every thing it had to offer. I'm 30 now but when I used to live down there their were only a handful ( maybe 5 or 6 ) prawn trawler that used fish the river. These guys were old school fisherman that respected the river and knew from generations of fishing how to keep it sustainable. The last few years that I was living on the river more and more trawler seemed to be coming onto the river. These new guys were complete wankers thinking they knew everything and were just in it for a quick easy buck. What they didn't realize is that it isn't just scooping prawns out of the river but was more complex , and more about understanding there cycles, not just the prawns but the whole Eco system. It's as simple as this, if there are no prawns/squid in the river the fish will not want to be there either. The Hawkesbury river would be one of the most thriving river on the east coast if it wasn't for the large amount of commercial fishing! I extend my middle finger to them all!
