  1. I've checked out the basin along Ellmoos Rd - coming from the Erowal Bay side. Tried shore-based fishing a few spots along there from where Ellmoos gets closer to the water to around halfway down the rd, Definitely fish caught there given the scales i saw but all spots were very weedy from the shore. I'm guessing i need to wade out past the weed to get to fishable spots
  2. They were low 30's size-wise TAYLOR - which was a good thing given the spot I was fishing from ! And they were really on - I fished with close to zero burley as well. And I should also mention the 2 other fisho's who arrived in the morning after collecting cunje - they'd planned to fish the gutter I was at for drummer but since i'd arrived there first they went to a spot further down so as not to be casting over my line which was good of them.
  3. Visited my favourite northern beaches blackfish spot on Thursday morning 20/11. I usually prefer fishing the run up tide, but the early morning start meant fishing from high to run out, and the high water meant access to the usual spot was limited, so had to fish from behind there, making it harder to land fish. Still, despite thinking I was in for a slow morning they came on the bite ! Around mid-tide it was close to a fish every cast or 2. Had more than enough by 11:30am and the water had calmed right down, so it was time to cool off at the beach !
  4. yep - for me i've found a rising tide best and try to time my trips around them.
  5. Had a great session Thursday morning (6th) on the run up tide. 1m seas with 2-3m southerly swell had been predicted but the spot is protected from southerlies so there was enough action in the water to keep them interested. Caught one 1st cast, then after another 3 or 4 in a row there was a very short lull followed by down after down as it got towards the midday high tide. Most were full of roe and milt and they were right in the gutter fishing in close.
  6. Good to hear theyre coming on. I'm planning on putting some days off to good use with a blackfish session or two at one of the Nthn beaches tomorrow and/or Friday
