Hi all,
Was spending some time with the Mrs. and my daughter having a fish from Woolwich wharf on Sunday afternoon as the tide was coming up. I was flicking a squidgy bug close to the rock wall when it got bumped by something. Thinking it was a bream I gave it a quick wind in and let it pause in the water - what followed were three very likely legal kingies fighting over the squidgy near the surface and instantaneously lost interest and moved on. Had one hooked I would have had no hope on my 8lb outfit.
So I told the bloke next to me what had happened (don't think he believed me - I don't blame him) who had some heavier gear to give it a go with some live bait. He didn't have any luck but the family on the other side of the pontoon hooked one soon after. The gentleman brought it all the way in after some decent runs only to have it come off on the lift to the wharf. A good reason to buy a net I think.
Not much action after that other than me catching my first legal bream on a soft plastic (Zman grubz) and a miniature pike that was about the same size as the metal lure I caught it on.
