  1. Please for the love of god dont use grease, doesnt matter what brand but it all ends up drying out to a thick brown gunk that clogs your tube and makes your steering heavy, use inox and you will never have this problem again guarenteed!
  2. Gday mate, i dunno if its been said already but take your filler cap off, put a clean piece of cloth over the top and secure it with an elastic band then take it for a blast, This will tell you definately if its a breather problem or not.
  3. becareful not to tighten those straps too tight, especially if your springs are getting on a bit, they loose alot of their suspension and if you strap her down too tight your boat will absorb every bump in the road, its a quick way to crack your welds.
  4. Twin 454 mercruisers just out of curiosity whats the fuel consumption like?
  5. I had the same problems when using grease, now i use only use inox and i cant fault it, awsome stuff.
  6. mate, i had a look at your other post and im sure its an old 14ft clark. These are quiet seaworthy boats, i own a clark 14ft centre console and regularly fish the inshore reefs up to a few k's offshore depending on the conditions. I actually downgraded from a much larger boat because i wasnt using it as much as i wanted because it was too heavy too tow, couldnt launch by myself, was bit heavy on fuel etc and i havnt looked back, getting heaps more fishing done with the smaller boat. but you have study the weather and if it looks like any strong change is gonna come throuh dont go, generally seabreeze.com.au gets it right for major changes. cheers Luke
  7. hi guys heaps of you guys are cleanin up on the kingies, i was wondering if any of you guys have ever tried using that frozen squid that comes in a little blue and white box, you can buy it from a few tackle shops down here in the gong, id say you could get it in sydney too, it's a perfect size not too big or too small and it seems to be fairly fresh compared to some other frozen squid, i think it's called california arrow squid and i think they import it to eat because it has nutritional facts on the back of the box. i know it wouldnt be as good as live squid but sometime's they can be really hard to get around here, what do you's reckon?
  8. gday mate was fishing water from about 40-80 feet and swell was about 1 metre maybe a bit more. cheers Hennessy
  9. Hi guys i recently bought a 4.3 clark abalone, that im fitting out for inshore/estuary fishing, my problem is i installed a lowrance x135 sounder, followed all instructions, mounted transducer on transom, took it out fishing on the weekend, everything seemed to be working perfect except the bottom is always really jagged, even when i zoom right out it still is lumpy even when i know im over flat sand, my question is, is this caused by the lumpy swell moving the boat up and down or havent i installed it right? im pretty sure its the swell so can this be fixed so i can find ledges and reef or do i just have to put up with it? cheers Hennessy
