  1. G'day Flattieman. I realised that the big ones usually just took off without u being able to feel the bites 1st. Most of my previous bigguns would normally take off while the lure is on the drop, while this particular one sort of happened during midway retrieval. If I did observe my line moving, yes, I'll wait a little while before striking. Hope you nail those finicky bream on SPs! Cheers Ronald
  2. G'day, went for a quickie to cure the itch seeing that the wind was kind. Tried an assortment of bm only to have their tails raped by toadies. Suddenly came across this colour which I had always overlooked. Oh well, whack it on and began casting to an almost dull session. Luckily for the wind, it made the casting further as well as watching the line easier. Finally, there was a strong take and I didn't even had the time to strike and it was on. This 37cm bream made 4 runs and I was pretty impressed with it. Excuse my 'burnt' face. The p.blue bm did the damage. Continued for a short while more with hardies but could only manage baby flatty and bream. Not bad for a breaming session, itch cured. Cheers Ronald
  3. No worries Grant. Still waiting for a top session, it's been awhile. Thanks for the tips though Cheers Ronald
  4. that. Sometimes it might be due to working the lure too fast. It pays to slow down when casting back the same spot. Btw, nice cr and nice ROD! Cheers
  5. G'day raiders. Just a quick CR. Went out for luring this morning which was one of my earliest to date. Upon reaching there it was still dark. Attached on my favourite SX-40 and on a couple of casts later with super slow cranks, I got a take. It was a wet-sock fight from a 30cm bream. Fish released and continue. By then, the sky was lit and I opted the sandworms. As expected, the toads got onto them fast, even on far casts. Continued with hardbodying but no takers and the tide was receding fast. Whack on the last ammo which is the bloodworm bm. Suddenly I heard a mullet splash and began casting there. Couple of slow-roll twitch and there was a take. This one made 2 runs and I was pretty impressed although it was just a 30cm job as well. Snagged that bm and called it quits. Cheers Ronald
  6. What can I say, GUN lure! My pbs were from that colour. I used size 2 1/16th. Good for breams, flatties, etc.. Good luck with it. Cheers
  7. Well done Andy, that 34 sure looked BIG! David, u gotta buck up mate! Cheers Ronald
  8. Nice going there penguin. How did their fight go? I assumed u were land-based? Great to see your little fella' havin a blast. Cheers
  9. Which 3" pseed u've had there? Generally I'd use size 2 hook for the jigheads. Just had to make sure the hook comes out from the "chunky" part of the body be it a grub or minnow. Hope this helps.
  10. Congrats on your pb, 60 is a great achievement for a virgin sp catch! Cheers Ronald
  11. Great job on that flounder there David! It sure looks bigger than average. Deep-fried flounder in salt and pepper is a pretty common dish in chinese restaurants. If there is a recipe to cook up the whole fish it should be alright, as it is pretty tricky to fillet them. Cheers Ronald
  12. Actually Ronald doesn't know how to fish, he only knows how to lip grip and take pictures/videos, dito? My 7th sense tells me a 80.1cm flattie is coming your way. ron
  13. oops, sorry! didn't mean to be rude by doing that. ron
  14. Nice work there Stallo! U should submit for fish of the month as well as there's no lure-fishing record for Gurnards. Cheers Ronald
  15. Hi David, I think I might have saw u at the end of the bay just after the run-out. I was land based wearing a visor. Anyway, I didn't do too well, nothing spectacular to report. Couple of flatties and 2 breams biggest only a 28. Didn't really had a problem with the wind as it was kinda blowing from my back. Cheers Ronald
  16. Well done Pete! I had to wait such a long time to 'UP' my pb but u've done it in just a week?! Far out.. That's a bloody good achievement! Keep it up mate, soon u'll nail the grandmama.. Cheers Ronald
  17. Well done on your 1st bass there. That's a nice reel it looks very 'Daiwa' to me. But why did it classify it as 4000 size? Doesn't look that big to me. I love the knob on the handle, very 'Bassart'. Btw, u should chuck this in the Lure Fishing Report section I reckon. Very nice pics, thanks! Cheers, Ronald
  18. Well done on some fine specimens! Go SJ! Cheers Ronald
  19. YeeHarr... well bloody done Bream Mad! That's a good session. Jumping mullets are a sign of fish activities IMO. Good stuffs. Cheers Ronald (oh, 200th posts, pb? hehe..)
  20. That's a very nice mixed bag u've had there penguin. Great work on the kings! Cheers Ronald
  21. Congrats on your PB flattie! Nice pics. Cheers Ronald
  22. Great work yet again coollamon. Yeah, that area is very suitable for wading. I remember getting my 1st popper whiting around there. Try some shallow HBs and hang on! Cheers Ronald
