Some info from internet: toadfish is venomous. and some species of it has a strong mouth that can crack oyster, so do not put fingers into its mouth. most of toadfish are edible, but not all. it is in my bin now.

just found that it is an Oyster toadfish, because when I cut it it keeps shouting. i feel very bad now because i killed a fish that i cannot eat. I should have released it. fortunately i haven't get hurt by it because it is said that its spike is extremely toxic.

Is it edible? I had thought it is a flathead but was also worrying if it is a puffer fish. thanks

Thanks Actually I used the same way yesterday, but it seems that there will be a lot of line tangle around (near the top) of the hook and I did lose lot of line. Anyway to stop that?

I recently bought some bobber float, it has a vertical whole in the centre and there is a removable stick inside the hole. Could anyone tell me how I can attach it to my fish line?

I went to Coogee for fishing yesterday night. Upon arriving there, I just said to myself "shall I go home now?" the waves are crazy, it is not the sea that I have seen before. The place I usually stay are full of water, I can only keep myself far away from the edge but still get hit by water. Got no luck in 4 hours. There was no one fishing beside me and no one on the beach. Could anyone please tell me if yesterday is a good fishing day? Is every high tide so "high" or it is just because of the recent rains? Thanks

To tell the truth, I don't know. I am new to fish and I would be happy if I can catch any fish However, every time after I stand beside the sea for a whole day I can only get 1 or 2 small ones. So I wonder what I can do to improve this condition

It might be a stupid question but I have been thinking about it for a long time. Every time after I cast and get no bites, I am just thinking if I should reel in my line and do another cast or just wait for some more time. So how long do you guys wait? 5 min? 30min or 2 hours?
