Hi all Have a need to insure a new ( 6 month old ) tinnie because I now have the time to use it,but is it best to go with the general insurers eg nrma,gio or go for a company that looks after the boating community?Any help would be appreciated. Cam

The tinnie is only going to be about the 4m range and its only needed when we venture down the South coast,otherwise I have been informed that a mobile phone will do the job.The wife wants to make sure that we are safe on the water( I think she is talking about my boys not me ). Hi all I am still in the market for a new boat package and had a salesman give me a price on a 4.2m with a 30hp Merc on it.I asked if I could upgrade to a 40 Merc only to be told that he could supply a Tohatsu 40 2 stroke instead of the Merc. Does anyone have an opinion of Pro + Cons on the Tohatsu and are there a good motor. Regards Cameron

Thanks Benzeenees I have been looking at all the web sites for 2nd hand tinnies but my paranoia sets in due to not knowing what to look for and thinking I will need get some Lime + Bitters for the Lemon that I get.Will keep looking and asking questions. Thanks again Cameron MTS

Hi all Thankyou for your feedback on the question posted.I always thought about a quinine due to fishing out of a Fishraider ( a friends boat ) many years ago on the south coast,but realise that you pay for the name and reputation now. Seen most inc Quinnies,Stessco,Anglapro,Horizon etc.Has anyone got some advice for a novice it will mainly be used for rivers In the Shire and down the South coast. Regards My three sons
