Yes we will be up Thursday morning, we will fish Thursday and sign up Thursday night. Have pub booked for 7:30 for dinner, you can join us.

I was wondering if anyone had reports from Port Stephens inter club. From the radio reports there seems to be a few Marlin caught, but where I have no idea. Be nice to see some report from up there.

Every year I do this competition the better it gets, they really look after you. So any report yet? The current stop racing out there?

Hi anyone doing the trailer boat comp this year, if so shall we chat before and during to make it a great fishing weekend.
I had a great time last year seems to be well run.

Sorry a bit busy when we got back. Ok Friday went to the FAD water temp 21.5, trolled around a few times then dropped some live slimies. nothing. Then trolled South east water temp went to 21.8. Still nothing.
Saturday went North to Seal Rocks and headed east. Putting the lures in about two miles from the shelf and the water temp started to rise to 24.5 about 2 mile over the shelf heading east the short rigger went off, we thought it was a small dolly or small tuna as it was not putting up much of a fight. We slowed the boat and tidy up the boat. We looked back a large dark shape just sitting there. I then started to reel it in. well that work it up, it then lite up and processed North at a great rate of Knots, I think I lost around 300-400 metre of line before we caught up with it. Not much jumping so we were not sure what type of Marlin it was. It then proceeded to dive deep and would not come up for about 45 min we tried everything, every time we got a bit of line back it took twice as much, We then got to the boat and we had a nice Stripped Marlin about 100kg. We had travelled 2 nm north by the end of the fight. Please note Current going south at around 3 kn.
Sunday we left Port Stephens and headed to shelf directly east of Seal Rocks again. Wind was 2 kt of the west sea was flat and the sun was shining. 1 and half hours latter we hit the shelf and popped the lures in the water. Water temp 24deg, as we headed north east the water temp rose to 25.4 about half an hour latter the short rigger went off and a large dolly jumped and lite up behind the boat, a quick fight and my mate had it to the boat and we gaffed it and had it in the boat too big for the esky we left it in the kill tank with ice.

We will be up there Friday till Monday, happy to share any information with you while we are there, hopefully I will not interfere with your drift this time when we are up. We will probably head to the FAD and then troll to the carpark if the warm currents have not come in close yet.

Hi Guys, heading to Port Stephens this weekend with a few mates to some fishing for Tuna and Marlin. Any reports from up that way would be appreciated. Can see the water temp is coming up out wide, has the gibber started to fire.

Well headed out to the southern canyons with a great team on a great day, breeze was from the sw at about 14 kts a little higher than we were expecting. Water temp range between 19.2 to 20.4. Got to 800 fathom mark and had not turned a reel. I then went and had a sleep as we head North back to Browns. Heard a few boats getting albacore at the Kiama canyons. But we did not turn a reel all day. Stopped at Browns for one of the boys to have a bottom bash. Saw a great 30kg blue eye Trevalley been pulled in on the boat neck door to us. Great trip back from Browns with the seas turning to glass from the shelf to the heads. All in all a great day out, great weather, great blokes just the fish were on school holidays.

Hi Raiders, the FFM is heading out Saturday with a few old blokes on board. We're happy to share info on 21.

Saturday we did the same out to Sydney north fad, got there water temp 21.1, did three drifts with nothing. Headed east about two miles and water temp went to 21.8. Found a fish trap came home with 3 good dollies. Saw lots of birds travelling, not much more.
