OK so replaced the top coil did not make a diffrence swaped it to the bottom still no change so thinking it is the power pack .? Rang a marina today and he said it might be fuel he said to pump the primer once it gets on the plane to see if it changes anything still nothing. they offered to have a look but at $100 hour was a bit expensive rang a local mobile mechanic and he only wants $80 hour so im getting him to come have a look tuesday or wednesday next week as he said he is out my way so will see what he says.

I have got a multimeter but how do you test the coils and power pack?

Ok just had another look at it and was told by someone to take a plug lead off and see how it runs i took the top of first and it ran ok then put the top one back on and took the bottom off an it ran like crap could that mean it is the top coil pack?

.Thanks for all the tips guys. Rang a local marine mechanic today and he was busy so he ringing me back tommorrow. If the timing was out could it cause the problem ? Will replace the plug leads if i can find them locally just waiting to hear back from the mechanic

Thats the one thing i have not checked the float i just found the specs to do it so will tommorrow. Yes they have a fuel pump and filter on the side i know that works. brand new fuel line from the tank to the fuel pump and carby.

Think i will have to post a video but wont be till friday . The kill switch is all good it is only when you get over half throttle It starts doing it. Starts right up and idles like a dream. list of things i have done so far New fuel New plugs Checked all electrical connections stripped down the carb and cleaned many times Cleaned the spark plug connections im lost to what it could be dont know if its fuel or electrical

100:1 There is only one mixture screw and that if for idle Really trying to avoid taking it to a marina as they are pretty dear around here just for a service on a 25 hp johnson they charged $800

Just changed the plugs and took it for a spin and still the same but not as often and not as hard as it was before as were before it was jumping on the transom its only cutting out now?

yep they were all good. going to replace the plugs tommorrow and see if anything changes

Thanks dreamer i checked the filter its all good also just relaced the fuel line going to the carby as it was cracked and leaking still did not fix the problem. im thinking its the plugs?

Hi just took the new boat out for the first time today but the engine has a skip (miss) above half throttle i am not shore if it is the plugs or fuel problem ? It is like the engine shuts of for a second and straight back on again it only does it every 3 seconds or so. It is a 1982 35hp electric start evinrude 2 stroke
