Hey mate. Sorry cant help ya with any charters or places to fish but one word of advice is dont pack your reel in your carry on luggage. My mate done it flying from syd to goldy and they made him strip his reel and throw out 60 bucks of braid.
Good luck over there and congrats for next weekend

Hi mate if you have a smart phone simply download the gopro app and either save the video to your phone and upload that way or screen shot parts of it.
I second what scratchie is saying people are just probaly antsing up as it does seem very full on for such an early report and ppl dont wanna spend hundreds on fuel bait ice etc based on one report.
Ps up here on goldy a bloke came in at southport marina with a small yft. Nothing bragging of size but I did visually see it with my own eyes. Said he caught it drifting and cubing with pillies but caught on a live garie?

I do the same as tastee. I never put used lures back in straight away until they have been washed.
I also lightly coat the lure box with innox. Just a light spray over it every 2 montjs or so. Never seems to have a negative effect on the fish.

Greaat haul scratchie!! Maybe he meant are you retired? Because he commented that he always sees your boat on the water hinting that you got soo much time on your hands i.e retirement haha. Maybe?

Hey mate do you tow behind it? If so try cgu insurance. They are fantastically priced however DO NOT include water skiiers liability. Also they dont offer agreed value they only offer agreed value OR market value what ever is lesser at the time of a claim but by the sound of your concern isnt primarily about your boat its abiut other peoples property. My 2006 jet ski worth 7k costs me 10 bucks a month!!! I am an insurance broker in brisbane so if you need any questions or even if you eant me to do some shopping on the market for you to not noy find a decent price but value for money as well shoot me a pm.
Cheers

Hey everyone. I have just moved to qld 4 weeks ago (gold coast to be exact) and finally getting my jet ski registered this weekend.
I am lookin at setting it up for offshore fishing however have never been offshore. I will only ever start off by going out on dead flat days (when they happen)
Now my query is i need all your help?
First of all are there any fads off gold coast and what do theu look like? What do i search for haha. Also does anybody know any in shore reefs that i can get to and if so i can google the coordinates however i need to know (if you can help) how lonf it woul roughly take if say for example i was travelliny arox 15-20knots?
Then once answered we can get onto fishing them haha. What gear do i use? What styles of fishing should i try? Baits and rigs?
Im not after anythin in particular as any new species would be a huge bonus.
Thanks raiders! !!

Yeah that is a bummer !!They don't grow very big the Northern Sand Flathead. My wife got one up at Hamilton Island once and at 35cm I thought it was a midget only to find out later on that that was actually a good one! My wife wasn't overly impressed though, went all the way to Hamilton and the first fish she scores was a Flathead!
Cheers

Couldn't agree more swordy. I think 42ish-55ish is the good eatimg range anything outside i release not just due to keeping the population but taste wiseA 33cm flathead is pretty tiny and you would be hard pressed getting a meal from that IMHO

Thats a solid fish mate and perfect for catch of the month with a red yak. Im not expert but my guess is around 14-15kg (just my guess) i will follow this to see how far i am off the mark from the more experienced on here. Cheers and well done again mate

Thats fine mate. Admin will correct me if im wrong here but knowing it has no previous record theu would rather have it as a record with a guesstimate rather than not have it there so if i was you k would submit it lolIt was caught on a pilly unfortunately was not measured it was released quickly after the pic , cheers

Thanks Camo1808!
They are very smart! Can't be a coincidence all three did much the same thing!
Stockton was great fun! Highly recommend to anyone with a young family and a 4WD.

Fantastic report mate. I am astounded how a fish heads INTO a mariner where it is so tiny and stuff. So smart they are!!! Cracking effort on the 1st mulloway. Nice pic of a good set up at stocko!! Best spot

I absolutely love seeing this post. The fact that you need to dig your own little tiny hole to even see the water!! Then from those tiny little rod things you use haha. So brilliant!!
Hope you dont mind me asking but over here we use many MANY different "visuals" to help us iddntify where to fish ranging from sea colour to all the information on fish finders and gps plotters to finding drop offs and weed beds and sand banks? In these photos you cant do that? Is there any techniques behind "finding the right spot" or is it just a matter of pot luck?
Cheers
