  1. For a lot of years I only used cheapies with the occasional Yozuri and then a couple of years back I bought a top shelf Gancraft just to see if it would improve my catch rate. I do a lot of squidding and I wont use anything but the best jigs these days - they are more durable and my catch rate improved markedly.

I'm not saying that cheapies won't produce squid, it's just a false economy to keep replacing them when the extra outlay will give you a jig that will last for ages and more than likely catch you more squid.

    Yes I agree with highlander.

  2. That's funny only cause something similar happened to me, I fitted a big bilge pump on my boat a I drill a holes straight through the hull as it was very close to the inner skin, LOL.

  3. There's an question with a million answers. Everyone is different on this and different boats in different areas can dictate what will work best. My tips are first find the thing that work on your boat and eliminate those that don't and remember what may work on one boat may not on another. To take that one further not every opinion may be right for you but here a couple of thoughts I have developed over the years.Going form SWR I'm going to assume trailerboat so my first point is less is more. I've seen boats pulling 6-8 lures at a time because they want to catch anything that happens to swim past but when you are targeting Blues the less gear in the water at a time the less you need to clear when if really hits the fan. I pull one teaser and 3 lures from my 27ft boat. The other option is to switch bait with 2 teasers and 2 baits ready. Maybe a smaller slimey on one rod and a big Bonito or Stripey on the other. I promise you the first time you feed a stripey to a 500lb blue you will never forget it. Find Peter Bristow's article in Bluewater in terms of drag pressures and fighting. If it was easy everyone would do it and remember that a big blue is a way different fish to the average Black or striped we normally encounter of NSW.

    HEAR HEAR.

  4. On my boat I have twin 2 stroke Yamaha's 90 models, I had a leak to, Problem is due to the age of the motors there could be a problem with seizing/corrosion on the prop shaft area you need to work on and you may not be able to take of the prop shaft to put a new seal on , This is what happen to mine, Mine is only very small leak , Your leak seems a lot worse that mine, And yes I would be getting someone who does this type of work all the time , Cause if you stuff it up and hand it over to someone to fix you look like a fool, One more thing make shore you can get the part first before you start pulling it apart.
