  1. gday folks posted this in the game fishing section but doesn't seem to get to busy in there and only response from a fellow who replied hasn't come back to me yet and im impatient and wanna get cracking , so thought id try here im chasing good resin lure heads and skirts separately so I can put together my own skirted trolling lures , anywhere from 5inch to 9 inches all different shaped heads etc ive found a few places on line from china http://www.leefishinggear.com/sdp/407411/4/pd-2198826/4807196-1837890/Resin_Head_Trolling_Lure_Trolling_Lure.html#normal_img and a few here in Australia http://www.alibaba.com/showroom/resin-head-trolling-lure.html but havnt heard of their name and am unsure of how good or bad they are. apparently theres a few mobs in QLD but I cant find any does anyone know of anyone in Australia or over seas I guess that sell the resin heads and that can vouch for the resin heads quality ?? any helps appreciate d
  2. Hey mate fig tree bridge over the years has died off IMO . U still get flathead bream whiting but are all small . I doubt there will be Jews as it's quiet shallow, try Greenwich wharf or under glades bridge there's big holes out the front of each of them, my wife caught a 9kg Jew off Greenwich wharf , I'm still yet to catch one -spewin !!! Hahahaha I use to walk onto the little sand island that comes up at low tide and flick lures and use prawns too and good results again was a while back though . If your in a boat go further up (head towards woolwich high school ) and drift on the wrong side of the channel markers I caught countless flattys here from the smaller 25cm throw backs to as big as 60cm . Hope that helps .... Oh or try Clark's point as it sounds like your local to area

  9. Hi guys don't know if I'm in the right section or not but ill fire away ... I pretty sure the laws are 5 witches hat (net type trap ) and 1 cage styled trap with 2 entrances or is 4 for nsw ?? I know I have to put a float on that says CT name number etc , right ?? Also I'm a little confused regarding the witches hat styled net set up , once I drop it in the water does the point tip have to sit up/float in the water so it would look like a cone in the water ?? And if so how do you know when it's on the bottom so u can then lift it a little to make the "witches hat" or do you just drop it in water once it hits bottom that's it ?? Hope u guys get what I'm saying ?? And where around Sydney harbour would you catch blue swimmers and muddies Wanna try my hand at this see how I go Cheers !!
  10. Thx overdraft Keen as to get this boat finished and hit the water !!
  11. Thx Gary for the tips would it be an idea to run the heavier leader or wire all the time ?? As above mentioned I normally run 15kg main and 40kg leader with snap swivels etc I've actually doubled this leader over so it would make it 80kg ?? What's your opinion on a 4.8m boat outside the heads or within a km or 2 ? Have had ppl say I'm crazy I think their crazy !!!! All the safety gear even more than required for licensing purposes right tides wind swell etc I'm sweet and have proven it Cheers
  12. Thx sailfish Heading out sat or Sunday just gotta finish bimini install and sus out double battery situ b4 I go Cheers mate
