Now thats what i dont want to happen bad luck there. just had a look at the camera u replaced it with and 10.1 megapixels should be the goods, im looking at the sony cybershot DSC-H5 it has 7.1mp with 12xoptical and 24x digital zooms

hey kingsrule how ya going, i recently was in the same boat as u with about the same budget. i picked up a brand new baitrunner 6500 for $189 thought that was pretty good. whilst looking for a rod i found alot of very expensive ones like the live fibres etc, they completely blew my budget so looked for a cheaper version, i found whats called a tica clear tip 7"6 and 15-30 pound im quite happy with it i spooled it up with 30pound braid havent hooked up to anything but with the drag pretty much locked up the outfit lifts 11kg from the ground. oh almost forgot the rod cost me $115 hope this helps and good luck only thing youll need is line but its pretty close to your budget and im happy with the combo Lee

Pity about those bustoffs could you up the line weight and increase the drag, or is 12kg max? Also i recently purchased some yo zuris as recommended pinks and oranges in 1.8 to 2.5 weights could you give us a tip on where to test em out thanks mate and well done.

Thats alota squid lookn forward to pics. With the retreive is it a slow constant retreive or more of a jerking action?

I have the 6500 its tough as. Only thing ive noticed is with braid its not the best for casting hard something to do with the way the reel layes line on the spool but have been told the problem is non existant with normal line.

I pin em from under their mouth through and out the top of its nose being careful not to go too deep into his head. They stay alive if u place the hook correctly. I use small longshank hooks the thinner diameter the longer theyl live. By the way how are you catching the poddies. Ive been let down by the mullet traps you buy in the shops and have only caught em in my mates homemade job.

for kings i know the rapala x raps work in the 15 and 20 foot depths trolled at 6 to 8 knots ive got a really good yellowtail and also slimie mackeral pattern which i think are the best. for tailor not positive but i think it might be a bit slower with smaller metal type lures.

Thats what i was thinkn but was unsure. Im a squid fisho to be havnt really fished for squid but have recently realised that it is the key to kings and jew. Ugly lil suckers but the gun bait and tasty too.

Sweet squid is the go huh anywhere close by to catch sum i was guna get some mullet from the fish shop and fillet them up use em as slab baits il get sum small squid too use them whole by the way ive just got on here but have been watching for a while and i think fishraider is tops
