  1. How did you go with this issue any findings or fixes?

I have had the boat back on the water a couple times, last time conditions were very flat and only had 50 litres of fuel on board. Just my mate and I and still could only get 28 knots. The boat doesn't take any water in the hull from rain and hull is a dry hull

  2. before you blame the engine, maybe think about the boat itsself.

Have you added any extra weight to the boat? (such as additional batteries, anchors and chains, taking extra eskies full of ice, taking more mates on board lately etc).

All of these will affect top speed and your ability to get on the plane.

once you have ruled that out, then you can start looking at other factors (one of them maybe being the outboard).

Yeh Na no extra weight like batteries or big eskies, or extra mates.. so it is defanitly same weight if not lighter than when first tested and used. The prop is in good working order and the condition as wind etc much the same most time I go out

  3. Hi All,

I have a f115A coming up 2 years old now with 150 hours on it, when I first bought my boat the top speed was around 31-33 knots, now I only seem to be getting 27-29 knots. I am running the same prop. Does this sound like something wrong with the engine?

  4. I have a Formosa 580 in the tomahawk range, the trailer has rollers. Best trailer I have had. I heard from the dealer that the " classic" range needs to be skid as they are not high tensile alloy as the " tomahawk " range is high tensile alloy and can go on rollers

  5. Hi All,

I have a solas SS prop Rubex NS3 on my FA 115 Yamaha, when I first put it into gear at low rpm it vibrates quite bad...when I put a bit more throttle down it is sweet. Has anyone had this with a propeller before?

    Cheers daryn

  6. Ok. Have re read your question when the map is highlighted choose menu in the top right corner. Then pick overlay. And you can UN select structure

    Or

    Menu. Structure options. Change transparency.

I'd encourage you get your power cable modded or purchase another power cable so you can plug into a 12v supply in the house.

Stick the unit in demo mode and have a good play. I've spent loads of time on mine and am still learning. It saves time on the water and helps familiarise.

Ian bat from road runner modded my cable for a lot less than the cost of a simrad cable.

    Good luck

I have just played with Simrad and thankyou as It has gone, easy when you know how... thanks again Jewfish

  7. Thanks heaps Jewfish for your help, I will plug in unit and give it a go. My mate told me to do the same thing and get a cable to learn inside rather than on the water.

    Thanks Daryn

  8. Hi All,

  9. Hi all,

I have a Simrad nss9 with a HDI 50-200 transducer, I cant seem to get it set correct as it has too much interference and only works properly at around 3 knots. Will it work better if I put it as far away from motor possible?? I have about 100mm I could move it on the plate.

    Cheers Daryn

  10. Hi All, I have recently bought a NSS9 unit with a 50-200, 455-800 transducer.

I cant seem to get the structure scan to work, all it shows is a dark grey screen with the depth etc, but no bottom readings.

has anyone got one of these units that may be able to help?

    Thanks Daryn

  11. These need to be saved in gpx format. And saved on the memory card.

Press the home button then on left all the way at the bottom select files. Chose the slot you have the memory card in. Browse to the gpx file and select. You will get an import option.

I'd encourage you to get a power supply to run the unit in the house.

These boxes have so many features I needed lots of practice. Playing with settings and ultimately doing a factory reset a few times.

Once on the water you'll just want to fish :) let me know how you go

Thanks all good now, just have to get on water

  12. Thanks for that, I know have detailed contour lines. I am having trouble trying to transfer waypoints from my card to the unit? I have downloaded Garmin Home Port and the marks are on my card but cant get them to display on my unit?

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers Daryn
