  1. yeah probably the only couple of hours fishable the last 2 weeks hahaha I'm still getting used to my newer gear and learning how to land them... losing fish makes you learn quick lol
  2. Got out to the trap at 6am (bottom of the tide) after watching for 10 min the big waves were only just trickling over the rocks. hooked up 3 ~50-60cm salmon on metal slugs but they all spat the hooks. 2 were hook on the surface after some exciting strikes. 2 hours no fish landed i called it a day (the tide and swell were rising and i was at the trap....)
  3. I went for a morning fish before the rain got too heavy. Picked up this Tailor on a slug on the east wall of the point. Fished for 2h then it started to rain pretty heavily and i packed up.
  4. After a few frustrating first cracks at rock spinning, 1st trip 50cm ish tailor spits the hooks 2m from landing. 2nd trip got SMASHED and almost reeled on the first run got a good amount of line back then my leader knot gave on the 2nd run (you better believe I cut that trip short to youtube better knots). 3rd trip, got up at 5am, headed out to Maroubra - North rocks, fished for 2 hours without getting anything except drenched by a freak wave. Out of no where a bait ball broke the surface frantically and I was on, 3rd times a charm. Then the bloke next to me was also on!! My fish went straight at the rock face I was on and had me standing uncomfortably close to the edge splitting my attention from fish to waves and back again. Luckily it gave me a lot of line early so I turned it along the rock face and, about 10m out, it jumped gloriously out of the water, my first salmon is almost landed!! Waiting anxiously for the swell to lift my sambo, then cranking like a maniac to bring it up a sloped rock face, one more wave and it was all over. Knots and tackle did the job =D 1st fish was on a black and silver (armor?) 30g slug, 2nd and 3rd were on 40g knight (yellow) and raider (green) respectively. Also the bloke next to me landed the 35cm snapper on a 1/2 pilly. Cheers, Pat

  6. was at maroubra (north rocks) this morning for a hour 6:45-7:45 spinning a slug and got smashed followed by a 30 second run, nearly spooling me >.< then 20 seconds of getting line back slow then another run resulting in my leader knot breaking... I'm now learning to tie better knots
  7. Anywhere East of the Harbour bridge for eating, Middle harbour (where the spit is) has good reports online I've caught a few small snapper there from my yak on zman grubz. Northern side of Roseville bridge can be accessed easily and shore is easy to walk, but there is a $7 park access fee (I've mostly caught bream/pinkies from the yak here but there are plenty of bait fish so I'm sure there is some big flatties).
  8. I'm mostly in it for fun and from west of the harbour bridge the fish are not safe to eat but I work in glebe and get bream, flatties, tailor and even some whiting on SP's along the glebe shore line. High tide, at night is good as there is big lights along the shore that enter the water (Stand in the shadows and cast into the light) ill upload a map/last nights bigger fish (got 6-5 bream and 3 flatties in 2 hours) lures are in the shots (gulp crabbies and also used Z-man grubs) Hope you have luck, Pat
