  1. they sell them at some fish shops, so someone must eat them. personally I only buy prawns and oysters , if I cant catch the fish , I dont deserve to eat it.

If I tried to do that I will never eat much fish. Great motivation tactic though.

  2. My dad is planning to go overseas with his pals, for his annual fishing trip. They normally go for wooden boats with no electrics. He is looking for a portable fish finder/ sounder/ gps for fresh water fishing.

    Any recommendations?

    Will update budget shortly.

  3. Hi Rami,

I believe a truck over 7.5 metres can only legally park in a built up area for a maximum time of 1 hr. This includes a trailer over 7.5m. If it is attached to a car the total length of the two counts. Very harsh near a ramp IMHO.

    Serious? I was joking.

  4. You should always have mono backing on a braided spool anyway. If you get a decent fish and your braid doesn't have the right tension, all your braid could start spinning on the reel and your going nowhere. All my braided reels have some mono backing!

    Cheers scratchie!!!

Any specs on the backing? same grade as the braid? How much backing?

I am moving from mono to braid so very curious of the above.

  5. Honestly. This report was incredibly useful for someone like me. It gave hints of techniques that I can one day try. Like trying to drift through different locations rather than anchor on top of the fish and scare them off. Etc etc. Now I know what people generally do and can go research. Better than getting a two liner and a picture of a fish.

This may appear simple but then i am a novice.

Now I need myself some kingies.

  6. Hi guys and girls,

I am planning to go to hen and chicken bay and try soft plastics sometime this month. Would the stuff caught there be edible? Or should I catch and release. Am I better off fishing somewhere else for a feed?

  7. I'm sure there are many like me who access the site mainly via an app and never see beyond the forums. I found the articles a few weeks back when I needed to log in with a Web browser. Loads of great articles plus great links to useful services.

Me too! Until someone kindly pointed it out for me :).
