  1. didnt look at the time was an average day and dirty so didnt really do to far -

ive spoken to a local spero down there said they were seeing lobbies off most head lands all season -

ill hopefuly be back to some diving after xmass slowly -

  2. Oh yeah I know the spot your talking about I have had a spear off there..

I have read on a kayak forum a few of the get them directly opposite on the north side off maloneys beach head and rocks, I was over there last trip in the boat and was very weedy, but didn't have my gear so I'll be trying that area in the boat next time, but there is rock plat forms there might be worth looking there for you guys, I have seen people fishing there.. Look at google maps

  3. I have a 15ft ft craft seagull cabin, for a first boat with a young family it was perfect for what I wanted, they are an old boat so have a good look at the them.

I fish lakes and off shore ( weather permitted)

I recently up graded the ancient motor on mine to a 90hp etec love love love it.

I went two stroke as I do t troll much and I'm sure as the kids get bigger I'll tow them on the donuts ect, my next boat will be bigger around the 6m mark and for fishing only and in that sinario I would be looking at a 4 stroke..

    My two cents worth

  4. Hit Illawarra Friday arvo wind was fun, but the weed omg every cast lure came in covered, not a single bite and not even a nibble on the bait.

Storm came over and didn't wait round for a prawn.

Hit Botany Bay sine Illawarra was filthy,

I changed my bait once in 6 hours,

    Sp'swe're the way to go

40cm,50cm flattest a snapper just under size, and a bloody eel.

Bait balls around but nothing chasing it, I had a few hits and missed the strike, had some squid attack the sp in front of the run way, by the time I got a jig rigged up they were gone and not to be found, spewing..

Hope everyone had a good weekend,

Lots of boats around didn't see many fish being caught, how was it for everyone else this weekend?

    Cheers Reese

  5. Hi there

i am wonder if you could give me some advice, im looking for some land based prawning spots on lake Illawarra wading in shallows ect , i have been Prawning before and have the kit but havnt taken the misses so looking for a safe easy spot for her to get a few prawns..

any help would be appreciated as i havnt prawned in lake illawarra before, last time I fished from my boat I didn't see much easy access from shore, even just a road name to get me close ,

    cheers

  6. Search function, put in fishing jervis bay, there is everything you need to know including fishing spots and general areas, you can launch in the river near the park or pending on the park there is a ramp at the a park up the river, but your looking at a long ride to the heads, best to proble get up early and drive through to murrays ramp I think it's called, which is at the heads proble much safer,

I have the same boat, but mine says 4.94m boat massive difference haha, with anew 90etec.

Have a read through the forum or google, there is loads of info out there which, show different spots for all fishing, snapper, flathead, Kings ect

I'm staying crook haven for 3 night end of the month then back a week later for a week, I'll be fishing different spots, jb from calla to the heads, currarong out round the cliff or off crook haven , if weather is no good the up greenwell point.

  7. Hi everyone

I'm heading to the in laws next weekend, (Helensburgh)

Planning to fish Illawarra lake or if weather is good off she'll harbour,

If boat weather is no good, is there any areas anyone could recommend for a land based squid session.?

    Thanks in advance

  8. four to five days after the full moon for two weeks or so. The best tides are now. Next weekend ok but the tides will be later.

Thanks mate, daylight savings starts tomorrow so the slightly later tides will proble suit.

    Well done on the catch

they say months with an R in it are good months - peak is november till april -

    fingers crossed

  10. Hi pirates gold

Where about do you do your Prawning and fishing in that area?

We are planning to fish jb for squid and kings, pending weather will try find a reef off crook haven then drift for flattys, if I jag the weather I'll be aiming for a run to the banks.

Going to be first time really hitting the area ( last two times weather has been un fishable )

Going to bring my Prawning gear, and maybe even a lobster pot if I can find a spot.
