  1. It's actually a genuine question for the more experienced boaters out there - is it safe to head out (conditions and maintenance permitting of course) in a 20' boat? I should add that I like many others no doubt have been tempted to have a crack at these yellowfin however I've never quite been game in a 17 footer.
  2. Great effort on the fin. Nothing but admiration. Now the last thing I would want to do is highjack a thread.... but If we're saying that 50 foot boats can and do get caught out by unexpected weather, what is considered a safe, non-suicidal sized boat to go out in???? I would be interested to hear what size boat guys here regularly take out to browns.
  3. Well done Ophet - I knew that hardcore overnight training in the harbour last weekend would pay off for you!
  4. Thanks Sammy. I think I need to test current performance again before going any further. I'm finding it hard to justify extra $$ for a SS prop - eg Solas for my application is $655.
  5. Hi, I'm a newcomer to the boating game, recently got a Signature 530C with 115 Johnson. The aluminium prop (pitch17) is not looking too good (thanks to me, lack of care at ramp) and thinking of stainless steel prop. Am I best off sticking with the same pitch in a SS or going higher? Boat gets out of the hole pretty well but I'm thinking about economy as it currently does about 26knts at 4000rpm. Any help appreciated.
