Hi everyone, I've been seeing a fair few kings over the metre mark in the past couple of weeks. I am fishing land based, off wharfs in Sydney harbour. What pound line would be needed to stop these kings and how much drag will I need to be using? Keep in mind I am fishing a fair bit of structure, so will need to be fishing heavy. Is 80lb overkill? Hi everyone, How much line would I need to stop a big jew off the beach? I am considering buying either the Fin Nor Lethal 80 or the Fin Nor Lethal 100. The 80 holds 300 metres of 20lb mono, whilst the 100 holds 300 metres of 30lb mono. Which reel would everyone recommend? Thanks, James

Hi everyone, I targeted jews last night. I was fishing at a marina, where lights shine into the water. These lights attract all sorts of baitfish including a fair few squid, yellowtail and tailor. I managed to catch one of the squid and use it for livebait. Unfortunately I didn't get any hits, but thats to be expected when chasing secret silvers. My question is, should I be casting my bait into the darkness or into the section illuminated by the lights? Will a jewfish be hesitant to swim into a lit up section of water, even though that is where the bait is? Thanks, James

Thanks for the info mate. I'll be fishing on a marina which I was given permission to fish off- so definitely a sandy bottom. I have a feeling that it could hold jews considering there is plenty of bait there. I'm also keen to give the squidgy fish in 100mm a go, heard many good things about them.
