  1. I use it intermittedly. The sonar charts layer is great(additional subscription). Battery does get used a lot.
  2. I just want to use the tubing to create a rigid segment between sinker and swivel or hike and swivel (in paternoster). Won't be heating it =)
  3. Hi guys. I recently purchased an older style Alvey: the 55C. The previous owner had it marked as not working. I wanted to confirm that I have all the parts but I cannot find a schematic online. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great!
  4. Hi guys. I would like to know what would be the best method to target sea mullet from the beach. I assume a small hook with a light line might work but casting it out far enough to might be a problem... further.. What would be best bait and overall technique?.
  5. Guys, I would like to buy some rig tubing for spacing sinkers from swivels etc Instead of paying premium attempt tackle shop, I am considering buying tubing in bulk/ebay. A bit of searching through the bay showed up three main type of tubing.., Shrink wrap able Silicon Teflon I found one retailer that offers Teflon at lower than 1mm ID. The shrink wrap and silicon seem to come with 1mm inner diameter. Which of these three materials would be most appropriate for fishing rigs, or is there something else? Further, what colour would be best? (I was thinking of picking up red an clear) What would be a good ID? 1mm or lower ... 0.5mm?
  6. Crossfire where did you buy the through the sinker hole ones?
  7. I am looking for a mould for them.. Anyone know where I can buy one? The run through ones might be better?
  8. Hi mate. Are we talking about the same sinker? These are the ones I saw... How does the line run through them? They look like terminal sinkers... http://www.marine-deals.com.au/media/catalog/product/cache/2/image/20a47c594fd742a59f0b1ac9b87e1814/K/S/KSSAND5OZ.jpg
  9. Hi guys. My line setup is as follows main line to a small swivel > 30cm main line through a ball bearing to another small swivel> ~60cm leader to a hook. When surf casting and in strong currents, the ball sinker seems to wrap itself around the leader line. Is there any way of preventing this?
  10. Hi Guys, has anyone had experience with the spikey donut type surf sinkers?
  11. Hi guys, this is a little off topic of fishing, but since boat owners might have purchased custom cut Perspex before I thought it might be worth a try... I am looking for a Perspex supplier (also need it cut), for two skylights i need to cover. Approximate size is 80x80cm and shoukd be milky/frosted and shoukd be thick enough not to bow under its own weight. It shoukd also not discolour... Anyone have a suggestion what the best type of Perspex might be and where I could purchase some at an affordable price preferably close to Liverpool?
  12. Thank you for your answers and PMs guys. Much appreciated!
  13. Hi guys. I am looking to make some customer simple single rod covers. Most of the material found in std material shops (for making various dresses) is not thick or tough enough. I would like to use something more substantial like truck tarp. Anyone have an idea where I could bumpy some? Or perhaps an alternative material suggestion?
