no one beach fishes?

Hi, im interested in getting into Beach Fishing, mainly for Salmon. I would prefer to use Raider Lures instead of bait..but if bait will produce as good results or better, ill use it too. Would just like to know what beaches are best to fish for salmon etc, im in NSW, i live around liverpool. so driving 1-1.5 hrs north or south doesnt bother me much. What size raiders are also best to use, and what period of the tide? Thanks fishos

Pedro, i went and hired a boat today. The exact prices are $70 - 4 hrs $100 - 8 hours. prices have changed, i remeber it being $70 for 8 hours. didnt catch much in the bay today, apart from small snapper, just legal flathead, and 6 squid.

I was on the bay today (friday) hired a boat from la parouse, all we got was a lousy small snapper, small flathead, and 6 squid in a 6 hr period Outnumbered, were you on the bay today? i just realised from your boat picture from under your name, that i saw a boat very similar to yours on the bay. started off at molinux point, then headed more out If it was you, catch anything?

Pedro, they dont have a website They are called First Fleet Marine - 9661 9522 the boats are 14 foot dingys with 6hp motors. Cost from what i remeber is $25 for 1 hr, $40 for 3 hrs, $75 for 8 hours open time is 7:30 - 3pm. if you look on the map of botany bay, you will see la parouse and Frenchmans Bay. the boat shed is located on the far left side of the beach of frenchmans bay. the shed is under a resturant. ill be heading out there tomorrow thanks

Hi, could someone please provide me with some help, in regards to what sort of rigs, and how i should fish for Trevally, Salmon, Bream, Slimy mackeral. i would like to hire a boat this weekend at botany bay, but i never catch anything other then small snapper. (15 cm) ive heard for slimys you just gotta burly heaps and when they arrive just throw in 3 gram chrome slugs...is this true? in regards to trevally and salmon, whats the best hook size and rigs to use and where? I am limited to where i can go in the bay, i can go Yarra Bay, molinux point and kurnell. thanks fishos (i have 10 lb line, 3-4 kg rod)

WAKD, what sort of lures do you throw around with ur baitcaster? also would you reccommend sticking with a spinner rather then a bait caster? if like to hear your opinions thanks mate

bashir, i hardly catch fish anyway, so i dont think my rod will work too hard Ive got an okuma inspira, i got that from ebay also for 80 dollars brand new, have not had a problem with it, its been 2 years, works fine. lots of my rods and reels are cheap, ive got a 20 dollar big w fibreglass 4-6 kg rod, that has not had a problem with it for the last 3 years, works perfect. i cant afford the high priced good quality reels, wish i could. now for the braid, any benefits from fireline? thanks

Jocool, your right about finding a better brand for the $100 mark. i was looking around on ebay and found the rod i described above, i bidded for it and won it for $61 delivered. i guess, i wouldnt find im8 for that price in stores? or would i ? Now i just need to look for a Baitcaster, im after a okuma nemesis, would you happen to know if its better to add Fireline to it or Braid? thanks champ!

Hello Fishos, i am interested in buying a Baitcasting setup. ive never used one before, but would like to get one for fishing from a boat and throwing 12gram squidgy lures around and bottom bashing. Im thinking of purchasing an Okuma VS200 or a Nemesis sometime soon, and ive seen Gillmaster rods that are: IM8 graphite 6 foot 6 inches long 4-6kg 9 stainless steel guides cork grip. approx $100 Has anyone had any experiance with these rods, and can give me some feedback? Right now i got a 3-4 kg Shimano stella that i got for around 70 buks, and i love it, so is the gillmaster roughly the same type of quailty etc? (im not after black diamond quality) Thanks!

Hi, i always use a spinning reel (okuma inspira20) i would like to know what are the advantages/disadvantages of using a baitcaster reel? I fish 95% from land, throwing around plastics and other lures, and the occasional bait while fishing at night. might fish from boat once every 3 months when i hire one out at botany bay. let me know your opinions please. thanks fishos

Great Squid mate. today i went fishing at Bayview in the hawkesbury system. bought myself a squid jig a while back, never busted myself enough to try and catch squid, but today at the warf, did one bodgey lure drop down the warf, as i brought it up got smacked by my first squid, went around 35-40 cm i knew that squirt ink, didnt expect em to squirt 1 m everywhere. they sound like a turbo blower valve going off The squid you caught seem nice and white and transparent in colour, the one i caught was more dark colored.

you guys should play the fishing game made by Rapala its got awesome graphics, you can target salmon, bass and heaps others
