  1. Done. Hopefully they upgrade it so we can use it. I tried to launch my old 4.3m rib there once but it was low tide and the trailer fell off the end of the ramp!
  2. Great kingfish.. Any chance you can post a photo of the skirt? Would love to see what it took. Thanks
  3. Sorry if this is a stupid question but what's subbing? Is that the layer of material under the green fly material as in sub or below? Could you just trim off some of the tail of the bought ones to get a higher hook up rate? I think I'll just have to go buy some and try them for myself
  4. Awesome days fishing there. Mate are the flies bought like these ones or do you make your own? Cheers Nick
  5. Hiya everyone, If you had your own boat (say 5.6m centre console 115hp) where would you go for a practically guaranteed Giant Trevally hookup? I'm in the market for a new boat and will definitely be doing some travelling all around Oz and a GT is on my bucket list. Just wondering if anyone on here has taken their own boat travelling and hooked up to these freight trains. I've fished Hervey Bay and hooked up to a lovely Golden Trevally and that was amazing.. As well as the Mac Tuna.. So much fun. Cheers, Nick
  6. Thanks Dave, I was actually looking at 6m+ boats and thought there is a limit.. I know most people will laugh and say you can never have too big or too powerful a boat but I want something that will easily tow and be relatively easy for me to do it all by myself. The only trouble is I am going to have to fly to Tweed Heads to see one as no one in Sydney has one for me to see and test drive. I just found a company called Heavy Duty Plate Boats in Hervey Bay and have emailed them asking for a quote. They are a custom boat building company by the looks of them so I might even be able to get a few custom diving extras added depending on their price. Anyway there's no rush so I'll take my time and get something that suits all my needs. Thanks again Dave Cheers Nick
  7. Hiya people, Just wondering if anyone owns a Stessly Trophy 530 or 560? I'm looking at purchasing one but not sure if the extra 30cm is worth the $5000! Also wondering for anyone that does how they like it? I'll be using mine for fishing and scuba diving. I really like the rear walk through section and ladder on the new Stessl Trophys making it a lot easier to get out of the water and get the gear in as well. My wife and I did a full day out on a fishing charter in Hervey Bay last Christmas and it was fantastic chasing Mac Tuna and Golden Trevelly. The boat we were on was a centre console with a casting deck. It was great. I tried contacting the dealers down here but no one has one in stock and I really want to take one out for a test drive to see what they are like. Looks like I might have to take a trip up to the Gold Coast to see and test drive one. Or next time I'm in Hervey Bay get Heavy Duty Plate Boats to custom make me one haha. Cheers Nick
  8. Thanks everyone gives me a good idea of what it might cost.
  9. Thanks mate, I know it will be worth it just wondering if anyone had an idea what sort of cost I would be looking at to upgrade from the stock gal one for a 5.3-5.6m boat.
  10. Hello everyone, Just a couple of questions. I am looking at purchasing a new boat soon probably a Stessl Trophy 530 or 560 and I was wondering if anyone knew what the likely cost would be to upgrade to an aluminium trailer, is that even possible? Also do people think that it's worth the upgrade and would you do it at this stage? Cheers Nick
