  5. So I haven't been feeling myself lately just been really blue and not a happy fisho so what other way too cheer myself up go fishing and fishing I did. Set off at 7 am in the beautiful sleepy town of Marion bay SA , weather was shocking in the morning but it didn't take long too flatten out thank the fishing gods!! So we headed out wide too 80 M of water now that's rough going with 350 gram sinkers but did it pay off we did our first drift and snapper on.... now I've caught alot of prized fish including barrel size blue fin tuna kingfish etc, but the legal snapper has been haunting me for years !! And finally I got my legal snapper weighing in at about 4 kilos not a monster but defiantly impressed that the fish has been ticked off my bucket list... well after pulling up a whole heap of snapper I thought I was hooked up too good old Australia and was I wrong the rod started to buckle the reel started too scream keep in mind this is a pe 1-2 Rod after about a 5 minute fight turns out I had a 12 kilo stingray on and a about a 4 kilo snapper.... sad face was totally hoping for a shark but that's fishing now after getting our bag of snapper we set off too find some nannygai it didn't take long too find the honey hole and it was fish on I guess you could say I like too mix my fishing up so being the only girl on the boat I thought I'd try get my first decent fish on a jig while everyone used bait within minutes of the jig being down there fish on!! Pulled up a nice nannygui was defiantly impressed with myself and pulled up a few more after that aswell. To me pulling up the fish on a jig was the highlight on my day it is far from a huge fish but it will defiantly be remembered Fishing provides that connection with the whole living world. It gives you the opportunity of being totally immersed, turning back into yourself in a good way. A form of meditation, some form of communion with levels of yourself that are deeper than the ordinary self. Tight lines cait

  17. Well well well what a weekend it seen me going down to cape jaffa south Australia again i have been down there for the last month chasing these beautiful bluefin tuna Well this weekend saw me stepping away from the rod something i don't do easy buy i knew it was time to get my best mate on a tuna so we set off at about 6 am Sunday morning the 2nd of November 2015 we arrived to our grounds and it was like a tackle shop having a sale very busy and no bait around we set up lures though and thought we'd give it a shot after about an hour and no luck we called it and headed out wide and that was the best decision made all day so trolling along we seen 1 bird yes one bird and started following it out of no where the reel just screams and she was howling okay set the god damn hooks before we get towed back to the boat ramp hooks set but looking down at the spool where's all the line gone 800 meters in 2 minutes gone just like that... before we could chase this fish the line went slack and it was gone skipper called it a possible 200 kilo fish so apparently winding in 800 meters of line is alot harder than it looks okay line almost in ohh no the lure that has been killing it is gone no one took a photo of the lure so we can't find another one but let me tell you it was the ugliest lure we had but hey if it works then no complaining okay gaining composure as heartbreak had set it we started trolling again we found a huge school of diving birds seals dolphins and bait lures in and whack the reel is screaming off again has my mate finally got his lucky break hooks are set and yep where on and tight - well someone thought the fish was coming into the boat in 10 minutes ahh I don't think so buddy this fish went down deep and didn't want to show itself after an hour we decided we'd chase this fish as he was just sitting on the surface but he wasn't ready and wasn't giving up 45 minutes later we had chased the fish down and he was at the side of the boat okay im struggling to gaff this fish as he is thrashing around and doing what he pleases okay gaff is in and now his defiantly not happy with us smacking his head against the boat tail rope on that made his day even better we left him for a while until we felt the fish was calm enough to come in the boat okay awesome now time to get this beautiful fish in the boat in the boat and wow what a beautiful fish he was lit up we bled him quickly and got him on ice real quick a wrapped him with utter respect limit your catch don't catch your limit i was sitting there speechless my best mate had finally got his fish of a life time and joined the barrel club and guess what his fish weighed exactly 100 kilos bled awesome what a amazing tuna run this year and it's something I'll never forget so this weekends barrel bought it up too number 19 for this season yahoo Nauticalstar is the boat if anyone is interested thanks for reading tight lines cait

  20. Ah. What a amazing weekend I had down at the sleepy town of cape Jaffa early morning start on Saturday 17th had us heading out to chase these amazing fish we had the area too ourselves for awhile and within 10 minutes of trolling the reel screamed off so I was hooked up and harnessed in and hanging on for dear life okay i must admit I was a little scared aswell. the fish was going down deep and the reel was still screaming away with about 13 kilos of drag on this fish and then it stopped at this fish just started screaming back up too the surface im winding like a mad women probably 20 minutes into this fight i almost had my windon leader fish saw the boat and whoosh back down too the depths we got a good look at this beautiful beast he wasn't a giant but still a beautiful creature about another 20 minutes of fighting and we had this beautiful fish at the side of the boat ... we kept this fish and uttermost Care and respect was taken with it aswell so with the fish boated by 8 am we trolled and trolled but with more boats around the fish where going down deep at about 1130 we had another hookup but before we could get it into strike bam the hooks where spat that's fishing though more bluefin madness to come this weekend if anyone is in the adelaide area or even Victoria and wants to come chase some of these beautiful fish i will be in cape jaffa sa this weekend. ... the journey has just begun
