  1. Nice work, Weet-Bix kid!! How many do you do!!! Persistance paid off mate. Well Done. One more box ticked off. Cheers Dom
  2. Up Early to start the Pirtek Challenge, High Tide at 6am so plan was to fish the run out till lunch. See how things go and maybe fish the run in back to my starting spot. Turned at Juno to see the sunrise. Started Drift at Patonga and drifted all along the edge to Lion Island, Caught over 20 Flatties all on plastics biggest going 52cm. Tried bigger plastics and smaller ones, different colours and shapes. Could not find the big female and was getting hungry so had some lunch as I did one troll around Lion Island in hope that maybe a decent Tailor might be hungry like me!! As I turned to head back up river bang big 60cm fat Salmon climbed all over my x-Rap, interupted my lunch pulled him in after good fight. In the esky for bait he goes. Wind was strong so called it stumps. Great morning drifting and flicking plastics for a great cause. Well done to all who participated in a great event. Cheers Dom
  3. There yesterday and it has completely gone, very hard to launch on your own with no pontoon. I had to rest the boat on the concrete ramp (Not great) while I parked the car. Will be a few weeks at least till they have the new one completed. Steer clear if you are on your own is my advice. Cheers Dom
  4. Hi Guys Headed out to Longy yesterday with a mate, plan was snapper on plastics and had the drift going nicely, found some bait then got dusted by something big on the plastic. Could not stop him in only 14 metres of water and locked up drag. Anyway my mate was not handling the swell too well so I thought it best to get him to calm waters of the harbour, said to him give me five minutes to get a feed so zipped out to the sand off the reef and first drop netted this Blue spot Flattie 57cm caught on a slab of bonito. There's the feed now lets get him back inside. Fair to say my mate owes me for that one!! Cheers Dom
  5. Yep I saw him on Sunday morning, on the way out (West of the spit) and then again in the same spot on the way in after lunch. He looked distressed rolling over and over. The was definately something wrong with the poor little fella, I thought he may be hooked up on fishing line the way he was swimming. I slowed and threw a kingy frame and some yakkas toward him but no interest. Hope he's alright. Cheers Dom
  6. Hi Gents I have a Quintrex Freedom Cruiser (no live bait tank installed) and use an esky for the livies to go in. Problem is I'm sick of changing the water constantly to keep them alive. I have a 12 volt plug in the back and was wondering if anyone has any ideas of pumps that can go in an esky (lid to close when I move spots) I did buy one of those cheap pumps that have suction caps on the bottom to stick on the floor of the esky but is rusted up and stopped working. Is there anything else on the market that anyone knows about? I have searched loads of tackle shops to no avail. Cheers boys and happy fishing. Dom
  7. Hi All Was heading out with a mate to an inshore reef on Monday when we were stopped by the sight of seagulls feeding from the surface around Balmain wharf. Had a closer inspection and saw dozens of Kings smashing into some bait. Out goes the soft plastic and instant hook up and then bang busted straight away. Spent the next 3 hours chasing them all around goat island and even at one stage into darling harbour. Dodging the ferries we managed to get dusted 6 times before I hook up and (stupidly on 6 pound!!) take 15 minutes to exhaust a 68cm King into the environet. We never got outside but had awsome fun and the action was none stop for hours right in front of the city buildings. I have attached a photo from the phone and as its my first post hope it works!! Cheers Dom
