Hi all im looking to head this sunday. Where is everybody heading? Any recent reports of marlin?

In need of a good mechanic.. Having major problems with the outboards... And everyone i take it to says its fixed and then it isnt once we hit the water..

Hey all is anyone going to be fishing jb in the first two weeks of the new year... Im staying at my holiday house in calla bay and im planning on fishing wide as much as possible. Would be good to know if you guys are having any luck Grimo

Will we are on outriggers. Ive recently purchased a 7.8m sportsfisher marlin broadbill.. Im looking getting a set of outriggers for it.. Does anyone know what length i should get and what brand.. cost etc etc regards Shaun

Well done rabs, I was out yesterday we headed out late S.E of browns and had the fin at the boat within 10 mins of pulling up. Some serious fish were in in our trail.. We only hooked 1 fin but after 45mins grinding away on the Penn 9500 the 15kg line finally wore through. Note to self im using braid from now on.. All and all great to see such massive fish in our trail.

HI guys sorry for the late reply ive been working all weekend. Last thursday was a white wash. Not long after we arrived at the ramp it became obvious that we wouldnt be fishing. We still put the boat in and headed out through the heads but after a few freakish waves we decided to head back in.. It was ashame as it seemed that their was some really good water out there.. Im heading out this thursday again if anyone else is heading let me know.. cheers Grimo..

HI Guys Being new to game fishing and after spending thousands banging lures around for days on end for no great results. Im looking into live baiting.. Which seems to be the best method. On that could anyone tell me the best live bait grounds around Sydney and JB as these are my most fished areas. Cheers Grimo.

Hey guys, Im thinking of heading out late this arvo in search of some fresh squid and hopefully run into some jews. Does anybody have good spots or advice on how and where to get them. As this is my first time going after them i have no idea at all. We are thinking of heading to port hacking.. Any info would be greatly helpfull.. Grimo..

Hello raiders, Sorry for the late report ive been awaiting photos. Last sunday we fished off jb with just about every other trailer boat on the south coast..... We headed down sat night and stayed at the holiday pad, a real luxury considering we normally sleep in the car.. So after pizza and a couple of beers it was off to bed for the early get up.... We decided to put in at C.B ramp our biggest mistake to date. If we thought it was shallow when we put in it was nothing compared to the afternoon... Ill get to that later...... Heading over to the bait grounds the feeling was good, untill we dropped the jig over and it never came back up... Made do with what we had and gathered some bait and headed out. Just over the shelf we set our spread of G.G lures and headed north away from all the kaos. After a few hours we caught up with another mate who was working an area where he nearly ran over a blue but couldnt raise him again.. Further north we went all was quite untill bang the right rigger goes off and is peeling line. After a decent fight we see colour only for it start peeling line again.. Back on the pump we finally have him boat side and realise we have a big dolly... Not sure of the weight but it measured just a tickle over 1.3m.. All went quite for the rest of the day but we did pick up a couple of nice kingies from spot x on the way home.. AS for the boat ramp does and body know a good ramp close to callala bay???? Hey raiders, Where do i start???? After much debate we decided to head out on sunday in search of the mighty YFT. With so many zero days confidence was again very low.. All was to change though as it wasnt ten minutes that we had set the spread and the shootgun goes off, after alot of screaming and name calling the line goes slack.. Not to worry we thought after all we have trolled for 12 hours b4 with even as much as a tangle. So we start regroup and begin our journey again only for the sounder to play dead and along with it the Gps.. Things were going down hill fast by now, but we stuck with it driving around in what seemed like circles and im sure we were. All was not lost when again the shootgun goes off, another stripey with thought but 2 our amazement we had landed a 10kg big eye. The day was getting better. Hours more followed with out a hint of hope when 1 after another we were pulling in stripey after stripey. This is it it must be our turn so we decided to stop and have a late cube as the sun started to set.. Not knowing where we were with put everything into it 8kg of pillies and our secret touch. NOt even the tsnami warning was going to stop us now besides the wind had drop and and the sea was flat a bath tub. As the sun was just about to fall both 50s went off and after a short hard fight we had landed our very 1st fin and then our 2nd. What a buzz all our effort had finally paid off. With this we packed up and started our journey home only to run into the very strong westerly winds.. A 3hr trip in the dark with only a compass and the city lights as our guide and the constant pounding that only comes from 7m alumiun center cab.. Not to worry though we got some fin (except for the cars lights been left on......... to compound things..... Thanks Shayne) Photos to come...
