Thanks for the tips guys, Thats exactly where i pin the yakka's though through the nose.... did a charter a while back to learn some tricks for the kings and has helped definately but as frank p said i think i still have a lot more tricks of the trade to learn for kings and i think now its just up to time in the water chasing them!!!! speaking of which i gotta go have another shot right now!!!

Hey guys/girls, set out from roseville at 530 this morning, raised 2 squid near the spit then nothing so we moved to manly to find some more then failing that moved on to option #2, got 5 yaka's a few trevally and a gar by 830. Trolled north head with some rapala's while we sounded around for some action. No hits but found a big school of something right on the tip so down went the livies... Nothing for 30 minutes. Went looking for the the boating boy off bondi that we had the gps point for and had been to 2 weeks ago, Gone . couldnt fin it anywhere. Ok next move the lighthouse in the harbour, plenty on the sounder but all pickers no takers that was the end of both live squid and a few yakas.... running out of time fast so we headed over to cliffton and threw down there all the remaining livies and a squid strip recovered from the now picked at squid. Heaps on the sounder again not much happening though a few small bream and snapper. Squid strip goes bang then spat out felt like a small king bait was still ok so down it went for round 2 hit again 2 minutes later and hook rips straight off thanks to a dubeous knot!!!! damn it no time left so after being quite excited because we had every live bait under the sun we came home with zero!!!!!! Its official i still suck at finding kings!!!! Oh well there is always tomorrow. P.s has anyone actually caught anything on yaka's????? i think its all a hoax and nothing eats them at all!!!! I've never get squat on them!!!!

You must have a good squid spot..... i usually only pick up 2 or 3 then it starts getting a bit tough!!! Nice work on the kings to!

Yeah the new xrap's look nice huh.... I have another one in the 2 piece that i haven't yet caught anything on but its only been in the water for about 20 min so that not really fair. I was suprised the xrap was staying down cause we were trolling at about 9 miles/hour (not sure what that converts to in knots) but it still stayed down even with the occasional overspeed with waves. That lure got 70% of the fish!!!!! so its now justified the price tag!

Nice dollies, that is the one fish i have left on the must catch this year season list.... running out of time damn it Which fad did you go to??

yeah was my first time catching stripey's .... while the aint no marlin they certainly are alot of fun!!! Thanks for the picuters help to guys i think they were a tiny bit to large!!!

Hey guys this is my first report so i hope its up to scratch. Out on a mates boat saturday morning through the heads about 630, Should have droped the lures straight away as we missed about three bait balls within about 1km of the heads Trolled a spread of 6 lures 5 skirts and one rapala 15ft xrap (diving that is not a 15ft lure!) in red and white. Headed out past a few guys flicking plastics at the deewhy fad then made a beeline straight for the shelf, got onto about 11 stripies through out the day about one or two every hour and boated 9, no marlin though. on the way back in we went to the peak and saw plenty on the sounder so stopped for a jig! leather jackets everywhere took three 9 inch long wave worm soft plastics in three casts $$$$, Then threw a sacrafice stick down for a king and hooked a leathery about half the size of the jig.... and that was just me, the other boys on the boat had thrown down patenosters made from 100lb leader and been bitten off, then went on to put down wire patenosters for the same result!!!! damn those leathery's. Trolled back in and picked up a small bonnie on the way.... Damn nice day on the water for my first trip out to the shelf.... After getting a few fish im sure there will be other trips in the near future.... minus the lesther jackets though!!!!

Damn it, im yet to get anything out of middle harbour any bigger than about a 60cm flattie.... not that im complaining about flatties but ive certainly never caught a king in there, Not from lack of trying mind you!!! and the big hole has never done me any favours!!!! Looks like i still got a lot to learn!!!!

Don't suppose you wish to divulge the position that you anchored in?????? Great work on that king makes my 67cm pb look like a tadpole!!!

Specially when you cop the ink straight on your face!!!!!!

Nice dews!!!! Im going to narrabeen tonight to see if i can break into some of this beach fishing for dews that i keep hearing about!!!!
