  1. Hey mate I have the daiwa saltist hyper in the 9'6 model which I find is a great rod for live baiting it's very strong and can take a beating caught kings and some sharks on it and handles them well! I have daiwa Nero 6000 on it spooled with 80lb braid plenty of drag only did advantage is it has a bit of weight to it, the rod isn't the lightest either but it's a good solid rod and if your using it for live baits it's normally sitting in a rod holder anyway! But I do recommend the rod! I did have the 8'3 model but it was abit of overkill I didn't enjoy it so much it more of a popper rod! hope this helps !
  2. Ok cheers guys I thought that would be the case, the guides are in good nick just the rust! It wasn't one Trip he had it for a couple months all good tho I'll just leave it for now! Thanks for the help guys!

  4. Hey guys so recently I lent a rod to a friend and he didn't wash it down as well as I thought he would have so now I'm stuck with rust behind the clear coat where the guides meet the rod it's self, I've been trying to my research but I can't find anything specifically for this situation, I would like to clean it myself some how but I don't know how to penetrate underneath the clear coat, I'm trying to avoid paying to get them stripped back and cleaned and put back together, has anyone else had this problem? I'm not happy about it at all! I'll post a couple of pics! Any help would be appreciated very much!
