  1. Yeah I thought that. I’ve heard of guys a couple of decades ago catching mangrove jack off the entrance rocks. These fish would also be drawn to the Bommie of the entrance and in turn move in the estuary.
  2. Hey fellow fishos. Caught this big eye trevally in the lake this afternoon on a live prawn. Didn’t think they’d come this far south. Put up a fun fight on 4lb line for the size of it. Has anyone else caught any unexpected species in the lake?
  3. No problem @kingie chaserhope you get some. @LuckyFil it sure is hard to get up when it’s that early, but you definitely reap the rewards later.
  4. Thank you @kingie chaser @lakelad And @LuckyFil. I was getting my fish on zman grubz in motor oil @LuckyFil.
  5. Thanks @Koalaboi. Hope you have a great Easter as well.
  6. Thanks @masterfisho7 and @61 crusher. I hope I will upgrade soon! But any fish over 30 is normally a fish I’m happy with. As long as I get a 1 fish at least 35 each session I’m content for the effort to fish!
  7. So this day began like the others. Wake up at 4:00, pack my gear and head up begin the carry the kayaks down the street. Get to the water and begin paddling toward Chittaway Point. Within the first cast I was hooked up to a fish, running me all over the place, and finally into the kayak - 29cm. Then my mate Ryan casts right up against a rock wall underneath a small jetty lined with pilons. Me, being 50 metres away, hear him yell to me “It’s a good fish!”, so I paddle down towards him and he pulls out a 39 cm fish, which not only took him around the pilons but nearly busted him of on the barnacle covered rocks. Very lucky! So we commence on down the creek catching a few 25 - 28 cm fish when I fish the very last jetty, it had a sand bank the cane right out and dropped of right where the pilons were, perfect bream territory. I flick my grub right next to the pylon and without a hit my reels starts screaming and a good fish has just taken off. I hold the spool so it can’t dust me off on a pylon and slowly I drag it out past the pylons and it does it’s typical bream run, down deep and short hard runs towards the bottom. I get it up and without a net I grab it ever so slightly and put it in the kayak. I grab my measuring ruler and it pushes 36 cm to the tip. A great fish and great fight! It was a great day on the water with 12 bream all up from myself and my mate Ryan. It’s a lovely time of the day paddling over when the suns rising, and even better to catch some good bream!
  8. Thank you @Koalaboi . I hope the blackfish begin to fire up soon, otherwise winter will be looking pretty dismal! I know that they are catching plenty of jewfish of the beach though, and there should be more coming with the mullet run.
  9. I’m interested in this @rickmarlin62. Do you mean from the bridge on Wyong road down towards the weir? I’ve never paddled down there but sounds like an idea.
  10. Thanks guys. I think this rain has really perked up a bite in the creek with the higher water levels giving them a higher area to feed and get around
  11. The last 31 cm fish. Have a look at how much it engulfed the plastic!
  12. Good fish last Sunday at ourimbah creek. Woke up at 4 am to take my kayak to my mate place, lift the down the street and start paddling over at 4:45 am. Got over to the mouth of the creek at 5:45 and pulled up to the bank to get my lure rigged and ready. Hit the first little jetty and my mate caught a 30 cm perch first cast, great start. Then we moved another 30 metres and I flicked my zman grub right up the back of a little homemade boat ramp right against it, left it for a few seconds, gave it a bit of a flick around and bang I was on. Great fight and went 35 cm. I caught 2 more smaller bream around 30cm but didn’t get a photo. Stopped for lunch and pursued further down the creek. My mate hooked up to a nice bream which took him straight under a barnacle encrusted jetty. He free spooled and it came out, the fights now back on. He eventually gets it in and it measured 37 cm, another great fish. My last fish was a 31 cm that had completely engulfed my grub, ran me into a crab trap and breaking the hook in the process. Beautiful day on the water and what a beautiful sight paddling over at sunrise.
  13. Thanks guys. The arms weren’t to stretched because they were rats but the shoulders definitely felt it after the 7 I got!
  14. Some kingys from the start of this year. The video was a session in which me and my two mates got 16 kings in the space of 30 minutes. Only rats but they are very fun to target and catch, and the legal ones taste very good! 01C813A4-D4BE-4743-981D-4E5151645FB8.MOV
