  1. Ive had worse days b4, But all i could do was laugh about as it happened anyway, And always looking on the bright side that we made to the water and back without completely loosing the boat all over the freeway.
  2. After reading reports on this site and watching the dvd from geg joyes about all the jews caught in the hawsbury I thought it was time to give it a go. Living in budgewoi its a fair haul down to Patonga to put the boat in and didnt this become a real problim as i arrived in woy woy for boat fuel we noticed smoke from the weel bearings on the trailer, But with fishing in mind took it slowly the rest of the way. Headed out to west head for live bait but so much for this so largly talked about place as we couldnt raise a yakka neither was any other boat around us, To add to my problim with the boat trailer the sounder didnt want to work either wile looking for live bait. After a very frustrating play with it i finaly got it going and sounded around for bait schools, The sound found a masive school of bait fish so anchord up only to find it to be thousands of small sweep. Lucky i had bought some Hawsbury squid ($$$$) i think it would be cheaper no be a drugy than buy squid and fish every day. Anyway first stop was elinors bluff for sweet stuff all then jewruslim bay and the rail bridge for nothing as well and then juno point and got 2, 30+cm silver bream and cut one in half for bait for jews that wernt there (what a waiste) headed back to the ramp checked the weel bearings and it looked real bad, We took the outboard of he boat uncase we ended up with boat all over the road and the motor only beeing 2 months old wouldnt look to good all scratched up. Luckly we made it to umina and repaired it but that wasnt to be our bad luck finished. I noticed the mud gaurd on one side had broken and was hitting the tyre, so i tied it up with some rope then onto the freeway but when heading down ourimba mountain i seen it swawing and b4 i could pull over it let go and shot up into the air and landed in the middle of the freeway( luckly no one was behind me, I pulled over and ran back to get it as it looked ok to weld back on, I was about 15m away when a semi trailer collected it and turned it into complete scrap metal, So all up the day cost $170.00 for 1 silver bream for the table and that was for my son as he was the one who caught it. I think i will stick to waters i know next time like swansea/ noarah head
