  4. Great stuff guys! wish my Boss would give me a day off...!!!
  5. Nice fishing, good to see the 'fin and Alby's still about
  6. Hutcho Mate has a 5.8m Predator, set-up for just about anything you can think of. Cheers XG. 4 ADZ -Try this, most Canyon marks are available on the net - just do a Google search for NSW GPS fishing marks or the like..... Kiama Canyon South Coast 34.48.338S 151.10.339E
  7. Nice effort boys, beautiful weather and some beautiful fish ...... break out the wasabi and soy...
  8. Sadly I missed this trip due to breaking my hand (5th Metacarpal) the night before this trip, so report is on behalf of a mate... Left Kiama and headed for the Canyon's as usual for a bit of cubing and berleying action - hoping for a few Yellowfin and maybe a Mako.... Hit the 30fth Reef and biat everywhere so stop and jig for a few slimeys. Loaded up with bait and headed for the shelf..... Hit the 60's and heaps of stripeys everywhere so out go a couple of xmas trees and land 5 before hitting the shelf and set-up a cube trail on the canyons. Early on is a bit slow but a few other boats are reporting fish so still anticipating a bite. Around 10ish a cube gets nailed and after a brief battle on 15kg a 24kg 'fin hits the deck. Shortly after another cube goes off and a 17kg model is pinned. Start to berley pretty hard around midday (looking for a Mako) and one of the 15 kg outfits goes off again - this time a 200kg+ Mako takes to the air for a series of at least 6 jumps towards the boat .... Then take a crash dive stripping at least 400m off at a blistering pace before chewing through the mono... Typical Shark takes the pillie on mono in stead of comming to the boat for a shark bait... Couple more stripies on the way in, all in all a pretty good day on the water.... When we get back, proceed to rub it in to mate who has a broken hand. Trav and Marc. Thanks Guys......XG.
  9. Brilliant Snapper Mate... That fish would put most adult anglers to shame! Put me to shame!!! I've been fishin' for best part of the last 29 years and my best snapper is 7.2kgs. Well done!!!
  10. SST charts showed 16ºC in close but 18-19 out wider off JB (shelf) - good chance the fish were sticking on the cold side off the front. This is not uncommon. Don't discount cold water for 'fin as we've caught plenty in 16-17ºC over the years off JB. It's more about the temp breaks, bait, plankton etc etc. Heaps of stripies also a good sign. Nice to see a few around, well done - I just wish I could pick the weather. Cheers XG.
  11. AWESOME, OUTSTANDING, UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! Words don't do it justice. Congrats XG.
  12. Congrats on that!!! A very, very nice fish!! Good to see they are out there, I can't wait to get a break in the weather (hopefully a weekend) and hit all my South Coast haunts. Any others or just a loner??? or you obviously spent most of the time fighting?? 80 on 15 is a fish of a lifetime..... Awesome!! XG.
  13. There is fish out there and even better numbers south toward the Drum Canyon!! Heaps have been caught over the last week or so and good size too!! Up to 80kgs. Full moon is tonight, and with tomorrows forecast being 5-10knts I'll be out there hopefully getting stuck into them. XG.
  14. Agree with Keepin' Tabs, the water has moved south slightly (off Batemans Bay). I'll still be hitting the JB area (Drum Canyon) this weekend as fish should still be there. Good point about the wind, I'm thinking you Sydney guys will be expecting the arrival of YFT at Browns as imminent - and better size than last season. Full moon tommorrow/Sat, 5-10 knots forecast and an afternoon tide change - I would be giving it a shot!!! GOOD LUCK! XG
  15. I'll be heading down Saturday as well and reckon the shelf/canyons will be the go, worth running over the Banks on the way out I reckon, but all the reports I've had were from the Drum Canyon area. XG.
