    Hi

It is with sadness that I announce that my Father @hookerbruce sadly passed away last week.

His actual name was Bruce Robinson he was a fine fisherman and a wonderful person.

He enjoyed this forum and posted to this site for over a decade, I don't know who he actually msged with on here, but I thought it was best to make a post to let people know what has happen.

He loved his fishing and passed on that love to his Brothers-in-laws, his children, his grandchildren and many friends. He was always happy to talk fishing and loved every aspect of the sport from simple fishing trips on his local Port Hacking to chasing exotic species in Northern Australia. He was perhaps happiest at South West Rocks with his last fishing trip, in early August this year, being chasing Blackfish off the wall there.

He shared his knowledge with many and will be missed by all who knew him.

Thankyou for reading, if you get a chance maybe have a read of some of his old reports.

As a favour to him and me next time you are frustrated and haven't fished for ages, take the next sunny day and just go, there is no guarantee you will get that chance later.

    Ash.

Many condolences to you and your family ❤️

  2. Hey all,

i went down with my old man down to horse shoe beach for some bait fishing, we used squid and pilchards. was very quiet most of the day with few bites until i hooked onto a nice flatty with the squid. Both me and my dad got a few small bites for little bream on the pillies but no more fish in the net, overall good day, good fun with the flatty! wish you all a great week :)

G'day Raiders, been a while since ive posted so thought id give you guys an update from a recent fishing trip in Lake Macquarie. Over the last couple of weeks salmon of good size +65cm have been around the lake busting up on the whitebait i think. So a mate of mine and i decided to have a good crack on catching a salmon. I had previously Never caught a salmon and had only heard of the fights they give. I went into battle thinking they would give an decent fight but boy was i wrong. I was using my 2500 sedona with 6lb braid and 10lb leader on a 3-5 raider rod. Catching these salmon in the bust up was the most fun ive had in ages.

We started our trip launching from out local boat ramp at bolton point at around 3:30. after getting some horoundes conditions on the lake (we only saw 2 other boats the whole day) and getting dreadfully soaked we reached the Channel and the sand flats. at this point it was around 4 and we couldn't see and birds or salmon so we decided to go for a flick for flathead. This eventuated in nothing and we decided to head over to dora creek where my mate had caught some nice flatties the day before. but as soon as we packed up my mate shouted "BUST UP" and all eyes turned to around 100 birds and god knows how much salmon all in a feeding frenzy. This bust up lasted around 2 and a half hours till it finally stopped. By the time we finished we had caught around 20 salmon all around 55-75cm, solid fish. These fish were caught on light flattie and bream setups using metals, big plastics and a rip off daiwa double clutch.

Overall it was a great days fishing full of excitement, thanks for reading👍

  5. Hi fishos,

i'm a 15 YR old fisherman looking to get myself more into rock fishing, as i love the thrill and love getting off those devices for a classic fish.
i live in newcastle planning to go to sydney or central coast with mates chasing either bonito , tailor / salmon (< not sure my luck as its going out of their season (salmon) ) and some kingies.

any spot suggestions greatly appreciated (all rods and gear are good and rearing)
    regards,

    Johnzy.
