Hi guys, I used to enjoy fishing the Hacking by boat from Attwells or Cronulla boat hire-----now both places have closed down. Can anyone help me with a couple of land based spots along the river, that could be worth a try. I mainly target Bream and Flathead. Grateful for any help what so ever.

That was a nice catch mate, looks like the supermarket prawns are as good as any. I like to drift along the main channel in the Hacking, but it can;t be on weekends, too much boat traffic. What area did you fish.

Hi Pal, Hey that 40cm Bass would give you something, judging by the fight of my little guy. Tell me where you caught him mate, if you released it he has probably grown some, and maybe i can pick him up, or perhaps his big brother. Cheers, Len.

G'day Mate, Yes i also read the sign, and just after i got there ,three young guys arrived and went straight in for a swim, crazy. I intend to release any Bass that i catch but am curious to know what they tast like, so one day when i find that spot where the salt meets the fresh, i will give it a try. Cheers, Len.

Hi T'n'k, You're right about how they smash the lure. It sort of caught me napping, as i wasn't expecting much to happen at 3.00pm. I was there just to have a look at the spot, but thought i may as well throw a line in while there. Everything was so quiet and peaseful, and then BANG, and away this guy went . Hi All, Went Bass fishing yesterday for my first time , and managed to catch my first Bass, which measured 33cm. Did not keep it for eating, even though i have never tasted Bass, as i caught it at Menangle and am not sure that it would be safe to eat from there. What are your thoughts, is it safe to eat fish from there? Also i would appreciate suggestions of other places i might try around the Macathur area. Enjoy your fishing, Len.

Hi Guys, I havn't fished the Moons in Georges river for ages. Am going on the Monday public holiday 6/10/08. Am i a chance of landing a few Bream? or should i be trying somewhere else. Any suggestions. Thank's ' Len.

g-day fishraiders, at the end of this month a mate and myself hire a boat from como and hope to catch a few fish. we have in mind to fish the waters between como and tarren point bridge. I would be grateful if someone with knowledge of the area might suggest, what species we should fish for and the best tides ect. don't even mind if i hear of a secret hot-spot. We will be happy if we can bring a couple of fish [any sort] home for a change. all the best and good fishing from len.

Hi Pedro, Good to hear back from you and you gave me a laugh about the "glow". I agree with what you say about where have the fish been eating before we catch them, but I guess it's like other food we eat, if we saw it made or where it came from we might give it a miss. Have decided to let em go as i'm getting too old for that "glow' of your,s. Thanks again buddy.

Hi Marlin, Thanks for your reply mate. Whether it be lead or mercury I guess one is as bad as the other, so any fish I catch there I will kiss and let em go. Might have second thoughts about that kiss.
