I ended up getting one online. I did go to the store and they didn’t have the BB in 3 piece. Only the XR and I didn’t want to pay twice the price ( the rod felt good though). There wasn’t much difference between the 2 piece XR and BB. So I’m assuming the same with the 3 piece versions. Hopefully will receive the rod soon and have some good weather to try it out.

I can’t find the shimano coltsniper or the majorcraft rods in any stores unfortunately . The Coltsniper i have found are all 2 piece. Or the Coltsniper XR 3 piece which is twice the price.

Thanks mate. That helps heaps. Looks like the mh might be the way to go then. Since I’m not that lucky when it comes to kings. I find all the rats…. Budget is 300-400 for the rod. I’ll most likely pair with a 4000 Sustain FE (old reel i have and still going strong) or a Salina3 10000 if i need more line (though will be unlikely and will likely unbalance the rod )

Yeah. It’s hard finding a 3 piece rod. I have looked at a few local stores but they are all 2 pieces or are in longer lengths 😞 Thanks. Just worried if i use a heavier than rated lure if it would adversely affect or damage the rod? The lure rating for the mh is 60g and line rating is pe3. My current lures are 40-65g ( guess I could just go buy some new lures 😁)

Hi Brain Trust, Its been a while since I've been fishing, so now looking at upgrading my rock fishing outfit. My previous rod (12ft Penn Prevail, is no longer fit for purpose... I broke the rod during storage..) Also now moving into more lure fishing as oppose to more of bait fishing that I was doing previously. I've been looking at some 3 piece rods, mainly for easy transport and storage. If anyone has or know of these rods or other recommendations for rods I would appreciate it. I'll mostly be throwing top ware lures or poppers between 40-65grams. I'll be looking to get another 12 or 13ft rod for bait fishing. SHIMANO 2021 COLTSNIPER BB S100H-3 (Lure max 85g, Line PE4) Major Craft New Crostage CRX-1103 Salmon (lure 14-70g, Line 10-30lb) Palms RKSS-116H+ (Lure 20-70g, Line 12-35lb) I'll be off the rocks mostly in the south coast, probably from Wollongong down to Kiama if that makes any difference I'm finding that its really hard finding 3 piece rods, most seems to be 2 piece rods. Any advice would be much appreciated, and Thanks in Advance
