I headed down to my local today for another crack at the healthy Bass, after getting them all week as well as flathead I thought why not repeat the fun. So this time I opted to go surface as the cicadas were going nuts. I threw a soft shell cicada into my normal honey hole where I start my sessions and three casts in CLAP!!! I got absolutely hammered by a Bass on the surface. After a bit of a struggle to keep it out of the snags I landed the monster with my jaw dropped. I could not believe the size of this thing, I got it on the matt as fast as I could and it went just over 50cm. I'm so stoked with this fish and won't forget it anytime soon, Yarramundi is really giving the goods at the moment.

I can't believe how healthy some of these Bass are, it's great to see. I managed another couple today at the same spot the biggest going 45cm.

I managed to snag a decent Flattie while fishing for Bass at Yarramundi this arvo. I got the 38cm Flattie on a Daiwa Duble Clutch at the foot of the rapids down from the Springwood Road Bridge on the Nepean Yarramundi. I also managed two decent Bass on a 3/8oz Megabass spinner in the rapids that put up a good fight, they were some fat fish...
