  3. I think they were fishing near the Marina ?? Ken
  4. Hi Everyone Just a Quick report from my 8 year old Grandson Kyle who took his Dad Glenn (my youngest son) fishing near the Spit Bridge Late Saturday night - early Sunday morning. Things started off fairly quiet with not a lot of run in the water. A few small Snapper and Bream went back until Kyle Found a very small Pilchard floating near his feet and decided to put it on his 4 Kg spin outfit. After a few minutes he Landed a 61 cm Dusky Flathead that later weighed in at 1.36 KG. Later in the morning his dad got a sand whiting that went .49 Kg. With not a lot going on and the young bloke a bit tired they called it a day about 2.30 AM. Crumbed Flathead & Whiting Fillets for dinner last night and again we eat Fish caught by the little fellow after his 8.0 Kg Yellowfin he got Last Sunday. Will post some more Reports for him and maybe some for myself as well Ken
  5. Dave Gardiner who runs Greenback Charters has been a mate of mine for 20+ years now ever since he used to bludge a ride out with me in Sydney Harbour when he was about 16 years old. Runs Geeenback Charters as well as Fish"n" Fillet that supplies the island with Fresh fish and some imported seafood. He will always supply you with enough fish (if you catch any) for a few feeds while your there but cannot give away All the fish that are caught as it helps to keep the Charter Rates as low as possible. Just tell him "Big Kenny" will kick his AR#E if he doesn't look after you. You should have no problems finding a Land Based location while you there as it will never be crowded because on the Limited bed numbers allowed on the Island. As said before fish as heavy as possible as they don't talk about Kingies over there under 30 KG's. You WILL enjoy your trip there as there is no place like LHI

Yes Nick's dad Henry likes a Crownie or 2 when he is on the water (within limits). Lunch on the day was BBQ chicken on a fresh bread rolls with roasted peppers, sun dried tomatoes, eggplant, pickles, and he even takes along the pepper & salt grinders for added taste. Sunday on Harrys boat "Nemo" was a bit of a disappointment as the friendly gents from Cummins stuffed up his electrics so as we could not fire up the genset for the microwave so we had to eat cold BBQ chicken Lasagna for lunch. The Lure in the photo did have a 2 hook shackle rig in it and both hooks were in the Fin's mouth. I personally run some of my Marlin lures with single hooks set well back as I think it improves there action with a bit less weight in them. Ken
  7. I think that might have been us "NEMO". Went out as a spare Deckie on Harry's 35 Footer on Sunday With my 8 year old grandson. After finally finding some Small Yellowfin to put some Tags into, we ended up tagging 11 and then Captain Harry said it was the little fellas turn to catch his First Yellowfin. In the chair he sits with a great big Grin on his face waiting for the next rod to go off. After what seemed like an eternity one of the bibless minnows goes off and with a little help from all on board we landed his first Yellowfin. Weighed 8.0KG on the Salter scales back at home so after a few more photo's in the back yard he went to bed a very Happy young Fellow. Many thanks to Harry for passing up a 1000 points in a tight point score competition to make Kyles day. Ken

Hey Nick get the story right, it was the Right rigger (Starboard) that went off. I Will post your Photo here just in case everybody missed it when I posted it on Mr Magoo's Last Report. When you Type your next report do it in small letters as it looks like your shouting at everyone. From your Friendly Traceman Just about to put a Photo of Kyle's 8.0 KG yellowfin that he got Sunday on the BBGFC post 'Big Ken"

    The Banks

Nice Trevally there. Keep up the reports from down the Banks area as it won't be long before it really fires down there. Ken
  10. You have a deal with the Blueye Fillets as I picked up 12 X 2 Foot extensions today from that tackle supplier that this site will not let me mention as it changes the word every time I type it in to a Post ?? . Nick just sent me a Photo of the 27 KG yellowfin he got Saturday, Will tack it on this reply. Looks like it is another State ANSA record for him as there are no entries in Junior Game-fishing 37 KG division. Give us a bell when you want the extensions and we'll arrange something. Ken
  11. Mr Magoo Did not take a photo myself of Nick's 27 KG yellowfin from last Saturday. Had it AGAIN for dinner last night. He has a few Shots in his camera so If get them in time before this thread is dead I'll post them here OK. Weather looks Crap for the rest of the week and I'm on my way to APS and will see if they have any more of those extension handles to make up some more Tag poles ??. Keep up the Food Gathering with the Deck Winch and I'll swap you some Yellowfin for a bit of Blueye. Ken
  12. I bet your glad you have the Reef Queen. Otherwise you would go home fish-less more often without it. Seems like the fin had thinned out a bit since Saturday. Don't worry the Marlin will be here in numbers Soon I Hope ?? Ken

Hi Arman A great report, Good to see you have mastered your computer in a very short Time. That's a very healthy looking fin (FAT) in one of the pics, Must have been grazing in a good Paddock. You out this W/end as I'm fishing in Henry's kevlacat on Sat From Kyeemagh Ramp. Leaving Fairly early to try to beat the NE'ster predicted for the arvo. Ken
  14. Hi Ross & Glenn Went out yesterday based on your report Henry got Saturday from Pat on "YUM YUM", in Henry's 5.2 Kevlacat. Water was all over the place with it going from green to that purple you talked about and the run we had was in 90 mtrs and the water had a definite green tinge about it. Young Nick called it for a black 80 kg ?, but pulled the hooks after about a run of 150-200 mtrs. A bit of bait showed up on the sounder around where we got the strike so in close IS the place at the moment. Catch up with you next time i see you at the marina. "BIG KEN"
