I have the shimano Sedona 5000 and a problem I’ve had since I’ve bought it has been that it feels harder to wind when I have tension/weight on the end of my line.

Does anyone know if the shimano taipan is any good for lures? I’m thinking of getting the shimano taipan 6-10 kg and I’m not sure if it will suit my fishing due to it being fibreglass.

Has anyone had any experience with the shimano taipan 7’6 6-10kg?

Hey Derek, thanks so much for replying reading that was very helpful. I do have another question though, if you weren’t taking the rounded but end into consideration would you still go for the raider? Im pretty sure the newer raiders aren’t rounded off in the butt ( I may be wrong).

Hey guys, I’m currently looking for a rod to match my shimano Sedona 5000 (30lb braid). Two rods that I have been looking at are the - shimano raider 7102 6-10kg - atomic arrowz offshore 270H 14-30lb (will this be ok for land based?) I’ll be fishing mostly for kingfish, other Pelagics and Jewys, most of the time with lures. Any recommendations under $100 would also be appreciated.
