  1. Great fish. One you will never forget. well done
  2. Well done lads. Great time for reddies up north. The long tail would have been interesting on light gear. Top effort.
  3. Nice fin mate. Plenty of fillet off that one. Well done
  4. Nice Fin Arman. Well done.
  5. Naddy,Ta Mate. We got alot of fillet out of him around 80kg's. This was a story in its self due to us only having a filleting knife. We knocked over quick by removing his heart, then the arms felt pumped again while we took it turns to cut through the tough skin and filet him. All done on the beach as we couldn't lift him in the ute. Take Care Gday Troutcod. Bronzies are of the same family as the Bull shark. It was a Bronzie as the eyes were the correct shape and colour. Some of the bigger ones go Grey in warmer waters. Thanks
  6. Gday Kingies. Yep the one that got away. While we were trying to get the gaf out, I accidentally lifted his hed out of the water. He shook his head out came the hook and off he swam. He had eyes like a 50 cent piece, I estimated him to go 20kg's+. Anyway next time. Hi Hoges. Yep we got around 80Kg's of fillet and good set of jaws. Plenty of flake for the extended Family.
  7. Hi Raiders. Just returned from Fraser Is with Azza P and the boys. The first four days were chellenged due to a SE wind averaging 25kn. The Boat remainrd in the driveway while we re-considered our options. First thought was to try a sheltered headland for Mackeral and Taylor. After several smoking runs and bust offs we decided we need to lift our game and rigs to cope. The next morning we headed back to the same spot for Tailor to suplement our bait supplies. It was then we relised our bust offs were due to sharks. We returned for breakfast and to draw up a plan for the rest of the day. All the conditions were against us due to the wind and swell. We searched Orchid beach for a rip that would assist us in getting our bait behind the Breakers. At last we found one although somone needed to walk across a gutter and into the next surf zone for this to work. Every one else was a bit smarter than myself, so Ioff I went through one gutter and into the surf zone and lobed out a whole tailor flailed on a 1000lb shark leader. Within 5 mins Azza P was on. TLD 25 loaded with 30lb braid onto the 1000lb trace. Azza walked 1.4km with the reel smoking. after approx 1 hour the shark was reluctant to enter the surf area and the hook pulled. . Azza was quiet emotional and didnt like anyone talking to him except his can of Jimmy. Back to the origanal rip and did it all again, instead this time it was my turn on the rod and he was not going to get away. The end result was a Brozie landed estimated weight of 160 to 180kgs on 15 kg gear. Two Hours and 15 min fight time. Bring it on. I am very happy with this catch and is a PB. Hope you enjoy the photos. All in all it was an excellent trip.
  8. Thanks. Good luck and I look forward to the report.
  9. Hi Raiders. AzzaP and myself are heading to Fraser Is in early June. We are staying in the NE of the Island at a place called Orchid Bay. We will have access to a 5.7 cuddy cab as well as seeking out beach and rock action. Can anyone give us some local knowledge of points or baits etc. And does anyone have any GPS marks to get us started. Any local info would be greatly appreciated. Take care
  10. Shame about the poped rig although a 30 is a good fish. Well done
  11. Well done lads. Looks like the young bloke had one loaded up. Good to see. Kingies til i die looks as if he was having a ball as well. Once again well done.
