got one myself to play with a while ago...loaded it with 4lb nitlon and 2nd cast WOOOOFF splatter lose line fall of after 1 retrieve.. thought to my self..go figure..serve me right for buying a shimano..BUT i persisted and bumped up to 6lb nitlon. the bit of extra bulk in the line makes a massive difference and havent had a problem since... over all im pretty impressed with them, thay have made some great improvments, so from a daiwa man ill give it 1 thumb up out of a possible 2... oh and they look quite spiffy as well...thats always a bonus !

the KIX, SOL and the new ADVANTAGE are mechanically exactly the same reel just different colours (apart from the obvious bearing No. differences) the Tierra however is the odd 1 out, different shape / profile and slightly less expencive internal components hence the price difference.

im running the ST30TTH (6.3) @ the moment..wild little reel!..i have used the standard model and would prefer the lower ration as my personal jigging style is biased on the jig, wind, jig as opposed to a flatout crank...hence the 4.9 ratio would be better suited...both awsome reels though...as Roylo said..only difference is the main gear diameter...

age has nothing to do with it Macka...@ 31 im still on the quest for a rod in every line class..overhead and spin (with a few replications in different lengths !)...i cant seem to break the 50 mark though !

have had NO problems in the past, with standard soft plastics, (not protein based) most of the seller label the customs slip as 'LURES'
