  3. hi i wil be remodeling my 1979 4.75 seafarer v-sea in the next few months and i was wondering if it is a good thing to put a pod on the back and do away with the very large outboard well.my boat is the old first shape which is set up for twin outboards.it had a new floor replaced in 2000 the transom needs a little work and i thought i may as well replace it and pod the boat at the same time. there is a lot of work involved in doing this and it wiull prob take me 6 months as the floor will have to be resealed after i put the fuel tank under it like the viking. is it wise to fill the under floor with foam or leave it as air. i have read on the internet that pods can make a good boat bad as well, more weight at the back and making the boat sit arse heavey. any thoughts would be great. the reason for the revamp is the wife now likes fishing and wants to come a few times when i only go in botany bay jim
  4. here is a story that happend there about 35 years ago.surfing just north of tb we got bussed by a helio and a bull horn SHARK SHARK. we swam in on our boards an as we got out a shark on a large size crused by about 10 feet from the rocks.it was heading south and so were we.kept up with it till we all came to this bat with a little entrance.the shark turned into the bay and cotinued to partol just off shore. it was a sight for a young kid to see.the good thing is people left it alone and it just swam off going south.1 hour later evey one was back in the water as nothing had happened

  7. check all the basic things first at home.basic knowage of you outboard is a must its a long way to swim home. 1 check that the cable is attatched and moving the gear leaver under the cowl(cable could be broken i had this problem once) 2 check rubber bush in prop is not detached itsself from outer prop housing. 3 if the gearbox is stuffed ther would have been grinding noises if so take it to a repairer asap jim
