Was going to head out to the rocks for some pelagics on jigs and was wondering if you could cast a 30 or 40g jig with a 60-120g rod and if so, what are the best jigs for targetting bonnies and kingies. I have 3 jigs all in pillie colours and range from 30g, 40g and 60g. Thanks

hi guys, I know I’ve been asking a lot of questions lately but that is because I want to get ready and have all the answers for the holidays where I will be fishing frequently. I have a question regarding bait aerators, just wanted to see which ones worked well for you and looking to spent maximum 50$. I’ve got a 25 litre esky that is decently narrow and was looking to slice open a side to create an opening to put the mount in. Yakkas, slimies and squid will be used in here. Thank you guys

Thanks mate, cant really catch live squid and i dont have an aerator either. Any tips on how to catch them using butterflied yakkas, drift it or work it like a lure?

Just wanted to know if using half pillies or even whole on a long shank with a half hitch would work to catch Kings, I am landbased and looking to fish in the harbour. Could any of these particularly catch a decent kingy? Thanks guys.

Yes, and thanks Derek, I have just about read all the squidding articles across the community and have gathered some decent information. Any tips on colours for jigs and what conditions to use them for? Plus, is the piers a good spot for squid, and if so which pier? I was looking to head out Sunday to catch some kingies with live squid and butterflied yakkas. Thanks

Hi guys. Just wanted to know if there were any squid jig scents that you used that work especially well, could be store bought or even homemade. I saw AKA Mikes use a sauce, but i wanted to make it at home, any suggestions?

Hi guys, I just wanted to get a new combo specifically for yakkas and was wondering what was a good combo for bait and lure. Was also planning to catch bream and squid on this rod as well. Thanks.
