Just heard the longliners brought in big catches of y/fin in the 40/50kg range a few days ago. Thats about a month early for Coffs so fish could turn up off Sydney early as well. Any showings should come straight after the tide turns back the right way. cheers

Hi Andrew, I've got a 2006 40 with nearly all raymarine gear (5 screens) plus a bit of furuno gear-(-sonar and navionics) plus lots of other goodies like four cameras,plus night vision,underwater lights etc. Running cat c9's If you want to have a look please call ---Boat is at Newport. cheers

Hi Su, A while ago I fitted one to a Bertram 25 and I used a piece of marine ply about 8mm thick and then a piece of marine grade aluminium sheet and secured everything through the two sheets. Probably overkill but it worked great--never moved! cheers

Hi Steve, I'm at Yamba for a few weeks now but back in Pittwater before christmas so I'll keep an eye out for him.I've seen him at least three times over the last year. Very strong cold currents in close at Yamba so don't be jealous. cheers

Thanks for the replies--still a mystery though--he trolled up and down two or three times and then headed further up but still kept within 50m of the bank. I'd guess his speed at about 10knots. I remember now I saw him before about a year ago doing the same thing. Maybe kingies at night--he's too fast for squid I would think. cheers

Greetings all. I live on Pittwater and in recently I've seen a tinny dragging a fluro lure about 25meters behind the boat in saltpan, so fairly shallow water. he travels fairly quickly and I'm intrigued with what he's doing or trying to catch. Any ideas? cheers

Sounds like a great day ! Please clear up something for me . Is the fad still out there? Various reports have it as missing. This time of year two or three years ago ,about 15nm out in that direction ,there were at least 30 traps and there were dollies everywhere I've had my boat up at Yamba for the last couple of years so am now learning the local conditions all over again. Hope to head out there tomorrow if the easterly swell doesn't get up too much.
