Thanks rockie! I tried the belabula yesterday downstream from mandurama. It looked fantastic but sadly I couldn't get a trout (on spinners). Maybe it's the time of year or skill (likely the latter) all I got was a small Redfin. There was a lot of sun on the water but I didn,t see a single swirl or rise. I don't know if it has been stocked in a while but as I say it looked fantastic- flowing fast and with lots of fast flowing falls oxygenating the water. Maybe October?

Thanks for the tips guys! I haven't had any luck at the lake but will give both a go. Has anyone had any luck at Ophir?

Hi Guys -
Off to visit my inlaws in Orange and will have a bit of time to myself (hopefully). Besides Canobolas (where I haven't had any luck) are there any spots/regions anyone can throw my way? Any reports of fish biting out there?
Thanks!!!

mate there's plenty of software packages that recover pics from SD cards. Just DON'T TAKE ANY MORE PICS with that chip. They'll all still be there.

he there nanook, we went nearby last weekend, caught a lot of small ones, certianly none of the thumpers you boys caught!!!

looks like a salmon from where I'm sitting

mate you do better than me, my wife is from orange too, I've never been able to find water worth fishing that side of oberon.

I stand corrected. Shows how clear these laws are with everyone having to contact DPI for clarification.
Either way my "personal" view is to leave them in peace to breed. Its just a few months.
I love catching and eating squid but I self imposed a ban on catching Southern Calamari for a few months because all of the 4 squid in my last trip all had eggs. The ban can only do good for furture stocks.
bass in dams don't breed, that's why they have to keep stocking them.

Hey raiders
my wife recently had a baby so i haven't been fishing for a long time . thats the sad news for me & i am struggling.
anyway as a desperate fisho i went for a drive down to parsely bay ramp last saturday & spotted a kayak which appeared to have a rather larger scaly creature in it. i couldn't believe my eyes but this bloke (lets call him legend) had nailed an estimated 25-30kg jew on SP out of the kayak.i notice his landing net was as big as it's head maximum so i can't believe how he landed it. his gear looked 10kg max an he told me it took40 minutes to get it in.
does anyone know this legend and what did it clock in at? SHOW YOUR FACE
i still can't believe what i saw it was a lobsided kayak!
there's a pretty big write up on a kayak fishing forum on a similar story by the fisherman

i've heard some people use a small cork near the bait (between the bait and sinker) to keep it just off the bottom and away from crabs...dunno if it works though

Dear Adrian,
Thank you for your email.
2KY has always encouraged listener feedback on programming issues.
In respect to the cessation of Hi Tide, a decision to cancel this programme was made due to several years of poor revenue performance.
Once again, thank you for your feedback.
Kind Regards

Sorry, I'm still laughing at the bobbin head suggestion- I can only imagine my wife's response to that kind of proposal!
I'm sure there's a spot we could have put our tent on the cooks river...

they look like manly dam bass!

Calling all trouters
Styx Rivers National Park has anyone done much trouting around Wattle Flats
Thinking about heading up there for the Oct LWE
cheers
I went up there, didn't do too well, it's pretty country though. There are definately fish around ebor (some close in). If you want to see big fish, check out the hatchery.

Thanks Covanova.
are the falls a long way down from the crossing
I have just ordered some topo maps to look into it further
cheers
from memory yes, but the worst part is the descent, the river drops a long way, I don't think it's all that passable from up high.

How far down from the Kowmung fire trail crossing is it?
Or is there another way in?
you can't fish the firetrail area because it's above the falls/junction with morong. You have to hike down from near jenolean caves (I'm sure there's other ways, like the road to yerranderie). I'll PM you with more info.

Careful with the Wollondilly, it isn't actually open and is listed as a closed water.
Here is a list of all the Notified Trout Waters:
http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fisheries/closur...rout-and-salmon
Anything not on those lists are fair game
Cheers
Windy
I think you can fish around goodman's ford.
Also the Kowmung is fine below the falls (bit of a hike though)

as someone else said... big walk. I assume the trail you're talking about is the one off the scotts main range road? If so, you have to walk along that road a long way before you get to the road down. No matter which way you go, if you do think of hitting the middle kowmung, go prepared, don't go alone and take an epirb.
