  1. Hello Raiders First of all I am the father of 'bucket'. Stephen is proving his usual lazy self and hasnt got the energy to write this report so he insisted that I join up , so this is my first foray into writing for the forum. Please be gentle. Decided to test the boat out after a service so took a run up the Nepean on Wed arvo before we head off to Swansea. Stephen and I threw lures all over the place just past the narrows and couldnt even get the mozzies to bite. Headed for the top, trying all our usual spots on the way. Still no go, so started working our way back. About 5:30 Steve and I started catching bass, unfortunately for a while there it was turning into a competition as to could land the smallest fish. Bass never fail to amaze me, pound for pound they are the bravest fish. How can such a small fish take on some of the large ugly lures that we throw at them. Steve anounced that he had won the competion for the smallest bass, picture below, and i must agree that catching one smaller than his would be an embarrasment to both of us. The boat does have a reputation to uphold, so we swithed tactics and swapped from targetting the small ones to targetting their parents. The action started and I was leadin the way with a fine healthy 24 cm specimen and Steve was lagging seriously behind. I thought he had gone to sleep until he started calling for the gaff. He is known to exagerate a little so I ignored him. The bend in the rod did indicate that some thing a little more robust than my fish was molesting his lure. See picture below. 45cm and built like a brick. A good time to go home. I was beaten at both ends of the scale. Roll on Swansea !! Les.
