  1. Fishing upper reaches of georges. Tried the nepean last weekend for donuts. Another two weeks of warm weather, and the bass will be down in the nepean around Camden and menangle.
  2. Got back out on the water today from 3 til 6. Had another good session with 44 bass landed, the biggest going 350, lost one over 400 at the yak, and 10 over the 300 mark. All fish were caught on surface lures. Caught up with another 2 mates on the water, they picked up another 25 between the two of them. Hopefully the fish stay on the chew as i think it will be a good season on the water. There were still a lot of small ones around and an ep was landed aswell.
  3. It's good to see that the warm weather over the past couple of days has turned the fish on for the surface action. Nothing beats a bass hitting a surface lure.
  4. Got out on the river today for a 2 and a half hour paddle. Went with a couple of mates and didnt go far at all. In the session 40 bass were landed all on surface lure. The biggest going 320 just after dark. A lot of small fish, but it good to see the small ones making their way into the system.
  5. Finally got back out on the nepean this season to have a crack at the local bass to see if they have run upstream. Had a few reports of some good fish being caught further down, so I though I might get a couple. Tried hard, flicked at every snag that has been good to me over the past couple of seasons for not even a touch. Just want to know if anyone has had any luck past Camden down towards menangle or further up. Ben
  6. Haven't posted for a while as i have been too busy at work or spending late nites or all weekends on the water. Had plenty of success so far this season and all fish have been caught on surface. The numbers look good as i have dropped nearly as many as i have caught. Over the weekend did a roadtrip to target some pest fish in the way of the redfin. Not much success but landed 1 nice one at 32cm. Here are some of the fish caught this season.
  7. nice catch on the reds. Hope there are a few big ones like that down here
  8. Mate, Fished wanda on fri nite for not much. Had 10 rods in the water between 5 of us at 6.30 and fished right through to 12.30. Had a variety of baits and only managed 1 shovel nose shark. Water was perfect, as was the moon and the tide but too many crabs around to have a nice bait for a jew. There is always next weekend.
  9. Was using salted yakka fillets, which got the PJ, pillies salted and normal, but the jew was caught on frozen squid. Used and pre made jewie 2 hook rig. There was plenty happening last night just couldnt get hook ups on all of them. Be patient, ive put in over 300 hrs for just my second jew.
  10. Finally got to hit the beach for the first time in over 12 months. Got out with a few boys from local tackle shop, and arrived at 7.30pm. Water looked great with many gutters running through the beach. Decided to fish in front of the surf club, and after a slow start some big hits started. Unfortunately we couldnt get a hookup. About an hour before high tide a 12kg port jackson was landed. At the change of the tide a lot of weed started coming through and i thought i was fouled up but on retrieval a nice 75cm soapie was landed. We had a few more hits and short runs but no more hook ups. Decided to pull lines at 4.00am. A long night but all worth it in the end. Tight lines YRELAX

  14. Well done dan on the nice jew. I know what it feels like to put in the hours for not much reward, but when it comes it is well deserved. I pulled a nice speciman from down south measuring 155cm. nothing beats a good jew fight.
  15. well done on the flattie. what size was it?
  16. Hit the water this morning for a quick session with ARP1980 at woronora river. Launched at daybreak and after a quick paddle in the yak a 28cm tailor was landed on the troll. Shortly after another nice hit and a 40cm flattie came aboard. trolled around for another hour or so for nothing and decided to call it a day.
  17. Weel done mate on a great catch. Good to see people still releasing the fish of a lifetime for somebody else to catch.
  18. Well done mike and to the site. It was a great day on the water and pleanty of bass caught, unfortunately the fish didn't like the fresh prawns. better luck next time hey.
  19. Welcome to the site and well done ARP and to your son. Not a bad session from nepean at camden. Hopefully we will be able to catch up some day and fight those tough fighting bass and land a big one. Ben
  20. Well done boys. Nice fish and a great effort.

  23. hi all, have been a big fan of the fishraider site for some time now but havent been able to post anything as work has been too busy or the weather has been poor. But finally managed a quick session after work yesterday as i was working in the wollongong area, decided with the boys from work that we will head to windang and chase some dinner. A report from the weekend from one of the boys was 53 whiting in a 2 hour session on squirt worms. As we didnt have much time beachworms were purchased and to the lake we headed. It didnt take long and the whiting were on. as the weather turned poor we decided to pull the pin with 8 whiting to 38cm and 1 bream at 35cm. Not bad for a 2 hour dangle. Hope to get back out soon.
