Well the rod just sits up against the rail, I was thinking of gettin one of those aluminium rod holders, there thin at the bottom and i guess i can wedge it between the rail and planks.

Thanks guys, its the 2nd time its happened to me in the same spot.

Gday raiders, headed out last saturday night down to lilli pilli for a fish. Got there at around 7:30pm. The weather wasnt to great, strong winds and the slight rain. The tide was low and there wasnt much action happening. Had two rods out with prawns on it. The weather seemed to be getting worse and worse as the hours went pass, had little pecks and pulled in some whitings but none of them were keepers so in they went. The weather got so bad it was time to pack up and head home, all of a sudden i hear a rattle. I had my rod leaning on a rail, the rod was bent over and was going in. I quickly ran over but guess what in it went . I stood there swearing at myself for not leaving the drag on, The rod just kept sinking deeper and deeper. Now i was a man on a mission, No matter how long it took me i was going to get that rod back. So i got my other rod put a big sinker, big hook and a treble hook on for some good luck. Half an hour passed, throwing the line in time and time again an finally iv hooked something with a bit of wait, slowly pulled it up and it was the tip of my rod i had hooked. quickly grab it before it went back in, i slowly pulled the line back in, there was a bit of weight behind it. Pulled it up an there she was a a fat healthy bream, she measured up to 41cm. At that stage i was feeling mighty proud of myself, i got my rod back and a fish at the same time. The weather was really bad now, so i packed up and headed home with my bream. In total 1 keeper and some whitings and pinkies which was thrown back in. Sorry no pics, had my old phone which the camera on it is bad, my good one well thats a different story, all i can say is it was johnny walkers fault. Enjoy weting your lines guys

Well both places we went guys were using livies as well next to us and it didnt even get touched lol Yeh me an my mate spoke about beach fishing last night , just gotta find time and place

Morning fellow raiders, went out for a fish last night with a mate down to greenwich. We got there at around 7 or so. I took a variety of baits thinking that if one bait doesnt work the other will. (boy were we wrong) We were using fresh prawns, salted pillies and chicken breast for bait. We set up, baited up and our lines went into the water. we each Cracked open a VB longneck in one hand and a ciggy in the other, (what a life what else could we ask for) and sat down and waited. We waited, waited and waited some more, we got hit by little peckers takin our baits but there wasnt even one decent tug at our lines. I decided while im waiting i might as well make myself a turkey sandwich, bread an turkey bought from the local grocery store in greenwich.Sat down had a good feed and drink. The hour went past and darkness started to approach, we were getting desperate now, hungry for a good fight. we snapped on some glow sticks and off we went again. A fisho who was fishing next to us caught some little bream earlier in the day, but started to feel the pinch like us as it started to get darker. He was having problems seeing his rod tip in the dark so i gave him a glow stick. He was so happy that he offered us some fresh squid that he bought from de costi's earlier on.I Didnt waste any time and threw on a fresh squid strip and into the water hoping for that fight we were anticipating for. We waited, waited and waited.By now all hopes were gone and we were there for 3 hrs and nothing, zilch. So we decided to change venues, and decided to head over to pier 2 and try our luck. We got there and the wind picked up, great. Set up again and our lines went in. Finally, had a pull on my little rod. The fish Didnt put up much of a fight, came up a bream just hittin 26cm. My mate said he'll keep it, so in he went into our fish net. . Hours went pass and and wind died down and the mossies attacked. We were gettin attcked left right an centre while our baits were attacked by little fish who kept on taking our baits. We had 2 big 12 footer rods with whole pillies and yellow tail on it all nite and not even a touch. So eventually we decided to leave at 3:00am with only 2 keeper's(bream) which my mate was suppose to take home, but when i was on my way to work this morning, i took the bucket out of the car to see the fish was still in there. Straight into the freezer it went. Gonna fillet it and make some fish cakes with it tonight after i google and find out how to make it. So all in all wasnt a productive night of fishing.Its been like that lately we havent caught and decent sized fish or at times nothing at all. SO WHERE HAVE ALL THE FISH GONE.

You serious they have put a sign up, well one guess who would be slashing the tyres of all fishos, theres a guy who always tells ppl which lives near by. his always telling ppl to leave and move cars. My money is on him a bit of an idiot he is.well abbotsford has a no fishing sign up but ppl still fish there, so i dnt think a sign will stop other ppl from fishing there.
