  1. thanks for ure relpys

was a great day down there nice and sunny

fished with worms grabed mullet gut but didnt get a tap using it (plus it reakkkkkkkkkkkkked)

when it came to fishin it wasnt the best my mate got 7 while i got 5 but they were all little things (around 15cm) but better than nothin

fished the south west side of the bridge and was all sand/mud bars and the current was ripppin through due to the king tides

overall was a good day had some funny moments as we went to windang from campbelltown via kiama =P

was a good day and cant wait to do it again with some more mates and hope for some bigger fish

  2. i went over the bridge a few days ago it was absolutely packed with fisherman and boats everywhere

haha can be both a good and bad sign. yea thats were i was lookin at fishin south of the bridge near (wat i assume to be) the sand flats and hope for the stupid fish =P cbf goin through all my gear so takin the big tackle bag with everthin from small worm hooks to kingfish poppers to marlin and tuna rigs =P

i will post my results and hope i catch something worth bragin about

hope that king tide serves us well

  3. hey raiders

going down to wingdang this thurs with some mates from school and wondering if theres much fish down there at there at the moment?

i normaly fish round botany/hackin and ofshore so i have no idea about down there =P

wouldnt mind doin some fishin on some flats and gettin some whiting so if someone wouldnt mind letting me know of some good sandbars close to the shore(walking distance as its a bit hard to get the bertie 25 there haha) would be appreciated

    thx for the help

  4. Shimano are great when it comes to service, just recently the drag clicker on my shimano reel stopped working, wasn't a expensive reel but i sent it in to them with the receipt and came back with a new spool, no questions asked.

yer exacte same thing happend to me with my slade not an expensive reel but they replaced the whole spool and letting me keep my old spool to

shimano has great service and would recomond their reels just for the service and not to meantion there reels are great

  5. :D thanks A.dawg, could i use fireline 10lb which has an actual breaking strain of 25lb or should i stick to 14lb fireline, and also what sort of leader would you recommend for this sort of setup ?

    Thanks again

    Victor :D

    nice combo your looking at

just a suggestion for the braid any reason for puttin fireline on a high $$$ combo cause i would probly put a better quality braid on it. i got the daiwa lines and i love them only problem is the price in the heavy stuff. just a suggestion

just a personal prefference i rather the braded braids (fins, daiwa) compared to the fused braids (fireline)

    cheers mitch

  6. It wasn't a total waste of time out at the peak. Starting creating a map of the area. The bait seemed to be spread over a very large area to the north of the pinnacle that rises up to 58m. There were no "strong" signals on the sounder so must not have been many kings about. Also good point about the bait being balled up if they are about and feeding.

Here is a view of the peak looking West.

that looks pretty hi-tec and will be very use full when completed

do u mind if i ask how u got that image my guess some sorta expensive sounder or a feature on the sounder

  7. went fishin outa botany bay yesterday and fished the peak

long story short caught this colourful fish and its internals epanded and the fish was unfit for relese. txted a mate with the pic seeing if he knew what it was. he forgot the name but he said they were nice eating.

just had it for dinner with salt and pepper seasoning and quite nice

now the important question what is it?

  9. if your dad likes the new baitrunner 8000D and dosnt like the price tag (as they are fairly expensive) get him to have a look at the 6500B. There the older modle but still are great. The main advantages is the 8000D has a more metal in it so its more sturdy and it has bigger sizes. the main bennerfit is the 6500B is cheaper (anound 100 bucks i think) and it is slighty lighter. the 6500B is a great reel i hav one and i run 30lb braid on it and i love it. i hav used it for light knife jiggin and i hav caught a few nice size kings and it has handled them no problems.

the other reel i sugest is a shimano spheros 8000 or 14000. it is a great jiggin real when the drag and hangle is upgraded. i got my mum the 14000 for christmas and she loves it comared to her old 20 special were the line was worth 4x more than the reel.

if u havent noticed i like my shimanos because of the 10yr warrenty and there services are great.

have a look on the shimano website for more specs and details

    hope this helps

  10. There are not many oil hoses to cause your issue. You really need to find the leak, how much oil did you loose and it would need to leak on a hot manifold to cause smoke and with water cooled exhaust manifolds they are not normally hot enough

  11. Hey I was out at the peak today and the current was ripping through there same at the fad. When we were drifting were doin around 3 knots. I droped a 400gram knife jig and is wasnt stayin vertical it was around 30 degree angle. We lost a bait rig to jackets so I ripped up the jig and didn't drop it back down.

We saw a Couple of boats at the fad (near the peak).the current was ripping though there as well and you couldent stay near it. I tried a couple of different types of lures and didn't get and takers but I got a. Couple of followers on Soft plastics.

I haven't fished 12 mile recentaly so I can't say anything about it.

I would troll some rapla magnums or x-raps and some x-mas tree lures.

Good Luck hope u do better than I did.

  12. witches hat traps are great for blue swimmers mate :)

just tie some fish heads, fish skeletons etc to it

dont know any spots up there but the best spots are anywhere with sand and weed around 2-3 meters deep just drop the pots there :) if you are dropping them down at the bottom of the tide just make sure theres enough rope for when the tide comes up ..

the bottom of the tide is the best time to drop them cause when the tide runs in all the crabs come out of the weedbeds looking for a feed

    goodluck mate

thx for the help mate im probly gonna try tommow

  13. hey Matt

for the metals all are good but some are beter than others because they have better quality hooks.

    some good brrands are:

the shimano spanyid series are good but a bit pricey

the wilsion ones are good and they dont have the major price tag

the are other brands that make metals that look like little whitebait they are good when the samon/kings are on the boil and chasing baitfish

there is another brand but i cant remeber

these are the main ones i use

with the poppers what are u planning to use them for bream of kingfish ect as there are many brands and types let me know wat you are targeting with them as it will be easer to help you

    hope this helps

  14. we are planning to go back down to jervis bay for a couple of day and i was wondering where the better spots are to go crabing and wat are some better crab baits?

i got 2 witches hat traps are they the right ones for the crabs?

  15. im a bias person so i would go with the

    Saragosa 18000f with a T-Curve 400 deep

mainly because shimano has a 10 year warrenty and i think dawia only has 3 year(correct me if im wrong)

other than that i think both combos would be great

  16. Yeah moron will be moron..anyhow probably going to venture out on Thursdar looks like a nice day....

My main target will be the salmon...

Any recommendation on plastics and metals to buy??

Ill be definately using unweighted pillies on ganged hoks..

    Do Blades work?

i think any crome slices would work the ones we were using had a blue stripe down the center but stick to the small and medium sizes so they blend in with the baitfish

we were using the squdigy pro soft plastics in pearl white in 90mm (i think). we just fished them the same as the crome slices just put them on light jig heads but heaver enough to cast and just rip them bak no action was needed for them.

i tried the blades but no succes so i stuck with the soft plactics and cromies

hope u do well on thursday if u go
