  1. I'm an idiot, forgot to tilt the outboard after cleaning the boat and have broken the skeg off when backing the boat back in the garage. Anyone know if this is repairable or am I going to be up for a new housing? I'm so damn cranky with myself
  2. Did you end up getting a pink slip locally? I've just found my now 12month old trailer needs a pink slip for rego (shouldn't they be ok for 3 years from new?) - I'm in Kellyville so would save me chasing around.
  3. I'd be getting the 400 trophy, its ready to go with no further fitouts and as you've suggested you'd like to buy something that will hold resale value, the 400 trophy will, as your not adding further options/upgrades after purchase and depreciation will be only on original purchase price . Although if your doing a lot of towing the 13" wheel/tyre upgrade is worthwhile. Do shop the price of the boat around though, the local dealer will still get your servicing and frankly thats what their making their cash on anyway. Warranty is through the respective manufacturers so its covered where ever you buy from. Remember too that with the Quintrex packages if you get the Mariner or Mercury boat/motor and trailer package you get a 3 year warranty on the lot. If you buy from a non mariner/mercury dealership (eg Yamaha motor) warranty will be manufacturers warranty periods only which are anything from 12 months to 2 years only. My father in law bought a 400 trophy with a 40hp 4stroke Merc, side console and electrics and 13" trailer wheel upgrade, from memory with shopping the price around the dealers it cost him $15400 from a $16500 list price. He loves it, I'm also sure it came with bilge pump standard. Best of luck!!
  4. oh that looks the goods, many thanks
  5. Hi, Mind if I ask if you've gone any further with this? I've a 460 topender and woundn't mind a Minn Kota fitted either. Stupidly I didn't think I'd need the bow mount plate fitted when I was speccing the boat so am wondering how you've mounted it.
  6. Hi Terry, I'm currently looking around for a new boat and have also been quite taken with the Trophy so was delighted when I stumbled across this site (which is very good BTW) and saw your post, congratulations on the purchase. Hope you don't mind a couple of questions. My major concern is with the family coping with the centre console/fishing biased setup in non-fishing use, any problems crop up so far in this respect? Do you have a bimini for shelter? Happy with the 115hp outboard? Its been suggested I could go to a 90hp but I think that may be false economy if I'm looking to do some light offshore work. thanks in advance Darryl
